Abstract: An agent for promoting hair growth and a preparation method for the same are provided. The method for preparing an agent for promoting hair growth that includes: (1) preparing an extract from eight medicinal herbs combined together at an optimal combination ratio to contain 50 to 70 wt. % of Rumex japonicas HOUTT, 3 to 6 wt. % of Pleuropterus multiflorus, 1 to 2 wt. % of Radix Notoginseng, 1 to 2 wt. % of safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.), 1 to 2 wt. % of Cnidium officinale, 0.5 to 1 wt. % of Mentha Arvensis var. Piperascens, 0.5 to 1 wt. % of Asarum sieboldii, and 0.5 to 1 wt. % of Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fischer; and (2) adding 10 to 15 wt. % of a purified horse fat to the extract.
