Abstract: A stylus is assembled from a plastic tip having an axial bore and an ink tube in said bore centered therein and welded thereto. Ultrasonic welding is used for softening and partially melting the tip. On switching off the ultrasonic energy source, the molten portion of the tip hardens and provides a strong bond between the tip and the ink tube.
