Patents Assigned to KEW Import/Export Inc.
  • Patent number: 5753195
Abstract: An improved apparatus which can be used for cleaning and/or sterilizing tubular items. A container is partitioned into two chambers with the item to be cleaned and/or sterilized is positioned to extend through the partition such that one opening lies in one chamber and another opening lies in the other chamber. A flexible membrane is positioned to affect each chamber. By deforming the flexible membrane, inward and outward, a flow between the chambers is created. This flow must pass through the hollow item. Mechanical pressure from the flow cleanses the interior of the tubular item and if a sterilant is used as the medium, then the interior portion of the hollow item is also sterilized.

A container is partitioned into two chambers with the item to be cleaned and/or sterilized is positioned to extend through the partition such that one opening lies in one chamber and another opening lies in the other chamber. Pressure is applied to one chamber forcing the liquid to surge into the second chamber. The surging affect is facilitated through the use of either a flexible membrane in the second chamber, or the use of dual pistons which are one hundred eighty degrees out of synchronization such that one chamber is being pressurized while the second chamber is be de-pressurized.

  • Patent number: 5443801
Abstract: A cleansing/sterilizing apparatus which is a transportable apparatus and method for inside-outside and sterilization of various complex reusable medical/dental instruments, including but not limited to laparoscopic instruments and dental handpieces. The apparatus avoids the use of heat, pressure, severe agitation, or corrosive chemicals which might damage delicate equipment. The apparatus preserves each processed instrument hermetically sealed in a sterile dry environment within a detachable/portable capsule until its next use.

  • Patent number: 5441622
Abstract: A hygienic apparatus which totally dissolves sharps from such places as health-care centers, operating rooms laboratories, and the like. The apparatus accepts all sorts of metal sharp instruments. The sharp metal portion is removed from any plastic component of the instrument. The plastic components are collected for sterilization through microwaves or similar process; the sharp metal instruments are dissolved using electrolysis and the liquid is discharged into conventional sewer systems. The sharp instruments, until their dissolution, are secured by a magnet within the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5245845
Abstract: A sterilizing mechanism for flexible material such as fabrics resulting in a waste material which is sanitary and disposable in traditional trash mechanisms without posing any biological hazards. The invention utilizes ozone in a bathing and agitating process to sterilize. An initial step utilizes detergent with ozone to further enhance the process. The resulting liquid bath is non-hazardous and is disposable through traditional means such as sewer disposal. In the preferred embodiment, the drum holding the contaminated material is pressurized and chilled to increase the effectiveness of the ozone in the sterilizing process.

  • Patent number: 5207237
Abstract: A liquid ozone system in which a liquid bath, preferably of distilled water, is kept in a pressure vessel and gaseous ozone is diffused into the liquid. The ozonenated liquid is then used as a steriliant in a container which is engagable with the pressure vessel. In the preferred embodiment the container and the pressure vessel are chilled to maintain the ozone diffused in the liquid. Excess liquid from the container is communicated to a destruct mechanism such as activated charcoal or discharged into the waste water system.

  • Patent number: 5184633
Abstract: A cleansing and sterilization mechanism which is usable on contact lenses, surgical instruments, dental tools, and other items which require regular cleansing and sterilization. Using ozone as the cleansing and sterilization medium, the apparatus provides for added guaranty of operation through the use of feedback mechanism to assure that all the components are working and that the to-be-cleaned items are exposed to the ozone bath for the specified time. Furthermore, the item is capable of communicating, via phone line, to a central unit which monitors the operation and performance of the mechanism.
