  • Patent number: 4155972
Abstract: An improved method for molding a unitary molded product comprised of three separate plastic materials includes the first step of molding the generally highest melting point, most abrasive, most viscous plastic material to mold a first form. Subsequently, the next generally lower melting point material is molded using the first form as a mold. Finally, the generally lowest melting point material is molded. By molding in a designated order, it is possible to mold a single product comprised of multiple plastic materials without having the materials bleed into one another. Additionally, a variety of materials having distinct melting points may be used to make a unitary molded product.

  • Patent number: 4148454
Abstract: An improved shelf bracket assembly has identical bracket members. Each bracket member is L-shaped and has a mounting portion forming one leg of the L and a flange portion forming the other portion. The mounting portion has a central raised section with an opening for receipt of a flange portion of the other bracket member. Each flange also includes a dimple and a cantilever finger. The dimple cooperates with the central raised section to maintain the bracket members in an intermediate prelocked condition. The cantilever finger cooperates with the central raised section to maintain the bracket members in a final locked condition.

  • Patent number: 4104446
Abstract: An improved self-tapping or thread-forming screw where the thread configuration on the screw end swages or forms the thread in an object to be threaded rather than cutting and removing a portion of the material of the object. The screw is provided with a threaded shank terminating in a tapered thread-forming end having four equi-spaced flattened surfaces separated by four threaded lobes or corners, and each corner is provided with a leading flattened surface in place of a portion of the radius to provide a partially threaded relief area in addition to the full relief areas formed by the flattened sides.

  • Patent number: 4099397
Abstract: An improved lock assembly includes a sleeve which is attached to a drawer or door by an original equipment manufacturer of desks, cabinets or the like. A cylinder lock may be installed in the sleeve by insertion in the sleeve with a retainer member. The retainer member includes a tab cooperative with a slot in the lock and an arm which projects through a slot in the sleeve to engage a tang on the sleeve that holds the retainer sleeve and lock together in assembly.

  • Patent number: 4087883
Abstract: A door support bracket includes a slide member telescopically inserted in a housing bracket member. The housing bracket member is attached to a horizontal hung door by means of a swivel bracket. The free end of the slide member is pivotally attached to the frame for the door. The housing bracket member is formed from an elastic material and cooperates with cam members on the slide member to hold the door in an open position.

  • Patent number: 4067521
Abstract: An improved attaching clip is disclosed for use with a roll of steel wire mesh reinforcing that is designed to be utilized in concrete negative buoyancy coatings. The clip is secured to the leading or free end of the roll and may be used to connect the leading end of the roll to the remaining portion of the roll so as to prevent the unrolling of the roll during storage and handling. The clip may also be utilized to connect the leading end of the roll to the trailing end of another similar roll of steel wire mesh reinforcing so that the two rolls form a continuous strip of steel wire mesh reinforcing so as to facilitate the installation of the reinforcing.

  • Patent number: 4056955
Abstract: An automobile ignition lock includes a plug with a plurality of tumblers. The plug is rotatably mounted in a cylinder and includes a slot for receipt of a tumbler actuating key. A key bolt is positioned at the inner end of the key slot and is movable in response to insertion of the key in the key slot from a plug locking to a plug unlocking position. Excessive longitudinal transfer or movement of the key bolt relocks the plug and cylinder and prevents relative rotation. Thus, a key with appropriate bitting and of appropriate length must be used to effect unlocking of the plug from the cylinder. As an additional security feature of the lock, the plug is designed with a circumferential slot that fractures and separates the plug into two separate portions when an attempt is made to forceably rotate the plug relative to the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4018487
Abstract: An improved sewing machine head lifter mechanism for supporting a sewing machine head in a cabinet includes a support linkage with a spring support mechanism for the linkage. An adjustable cam member is provided for cooperation with the spring mechanism. Thus, the adjustable cam engages one end of a tension spring. The opposite end of the spring engages a head support bracket. The spring is supported intermediate its ends. Pivotal movement of the cam member adjusts tension of the spring to provide the requisite force for supporting the head support bracket and an attached sewing machine head.

  • Patent number: 3978700
Abstract: A lock construction for a safe deposit box requires two keys for operation of the bolt. The first key is provided by the vault guard and the second key is provided by the customer. Each key activates a separate set of wafer-like tumblers by rotating the tumblers in response to rotation of the key. Each set of tumblers includes a plurality of key engaging drive tumblers which are gear engaged with gate tumblers. Appropriate rotation of the keys orients a notch of the gate tumblers that permits withdrawal of the bolt. Stops are provided on the bolt cooperative with key operated shifters to insure sequential operation of the keys. A change key tool may be inserted from the back side of the lock to disengage the drive and gate tumblers. Subsequent to disengagement of the tumblers, it is possible to substitute one or both of the keys and thus change the relative gear engagement of the tumblers.

  • Patent number: 3936084
Abstract: A plastic privacy lock for recreation vehicles and the like includes an outside handle portion for the outside of a door and an inside portion for the inside of a door. The outside portion includes an outside handle having a rotatable outside latch lever to operate a bolt on the inside portion. The inside portion includes a handle and a housing with the bolt in the housing. The bolt and an inside bolt actuator are formed as a single integral molded plastic part positioned within the housing. To move the bolt out of engagement with a strike from the inside, manual operation of the molded plastic bolt against the force of a biasing spring is required. A locking bar or dog having a locked and unlocked detent position is also provided in the housing. The locking bar is accessible from the inside portion of the lock. In locked position, the locking bar holds a bolt shifter connected to the outside latch lever to prevent rotation and operation of the lock.
