  • Publication number: 20220007642
Abstract: A disinfecting cover for use in disinfecting a weight bearing upper surface of a resilient medical patient pressure redistribution support includes a thin barrier membrane drapable on top of the weight bearing upper surface of the resilient support, and a peripherally-extending edge terminating between the peripherally-extending side of the resilient support between the weight bearing upper surface and the bottom surface of the support. The thin barrier membrane comprises an anti-microbial disinfectant, and being non-fibrous, and impervious to the transfer of fluid from the first main surface to the second main surface. The thin barrier membrane comprises a thickness operable to maintain the weight distribution of a patient on the weight bearing upper surface of the resilient medical patient pressure redistribution support substantially the same compared to the weight distribution without the thin barrier membrane.

  • Patent number: 11103086
Abstract: Knitted fire barrier fabrics for use in forming a flame retardant articles having a core, include for example, a unitarily knitted form comprising a plurality of yarns. The plurality of yarns define the unitarily knitted form having a longitudinal knitted direction, and the unitarily knitted form includes a plurality of differential zones of knitted material extending side-by-side in the longitudinal knitted direction. The knitted fire barrier fabric is disposable on the core so that at least one of the plurality of differential zones of knitted material of the knitted fire barrier fabric provides a differential protective capacity to at least one selected portion of the flame retardant article.

  • Patent number: 7638192
Abstract: Mattress and home furnishing items are made open flame resistant by a fire barrier fabric that includes chlorine-free rayon fiber. The fire barrier fabric at least partially encloses the core of the open flame resistant mattress or home furnishing item. When tested in accordance with the flame resistance test protocols of NFPA 267 or ASTM E 1590, the mattress has a maximum heat release rate of less than 250 kW and a total energy release of less than 40 MJ in the first five minutes of the test. The home furnishing items may be tested under test protocols such as California Technical Bulletin #604 or #117. TEQ of the products of the combustion of chlorine-free fibers, yarns and fabrics is less than or equal to 2 nanograms.
