    Abstract: A smoke detector having fire drill system that includes a delay period. The fire drill system enables a user to actuate a fire drill and leave a room in which the smoke detector is located before an audible alarm is produced by the smoke detector. In at least one application, the fire drill system enables a parent to determine whether an alarm produced by a smoke detector is capable of awakening a sleeping child.
