Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to techniques for implementing location based device services. Techniques are described for enabling registration of a device to a server system and providing access to the registered devices via a universal application. In certain embodiments, the universal application may receive, from an end user, one or more location based search parameters for a registered device. The universal application may determine registered devices that satisfy the one or more location based search parameters. In some embodiments, service attributes can also be input when searching for a registered device. In addition, some embodiments determine a device application associated with the registered device and a corresponding device application can be launched upon selected of a registered device.

Techniques are described for pairing devices and using the pairing information for granting or denying requests (e.g., data exchange requests) from the devices, for example, in a cloud environment, including Internet of Things (IoT) cloud. Devices can be paired with each other according to their identification information. Subsequently, when an original request is received from a first device, and a chasing request received from a second device, the pre-registered pairing information is used to determine whether the first and second devices form a valid pair and the original request is granted or denied based upon that determination. For example, the request may be granted only if it is determined that the first device and the second device have been previously paired.

Abstract: Techniques that enable a user of an application to refer or share the application with another user and for onboarding the new user to the referred or shared application. In certain embodiments, the application to be shared is automatically downloaded and installed on the other user's device. As part of the sharing or onboarding of the other user, configuration data for the application is also automatically downloaded to the other user's device and applied to the application, where the downloaded configuration data includes one or more customized configuration settings reflecting one or more customizations made to the application due to the first or original user's interactions with the application on the first user's device.

Abstract: A social mobile network enables discovery of application programs running on the mobile devices. A search for partial or full matches to a group of alphanumeric characters is performed on the data stored on the first mobile communication device on which the search is initiated. The search is also performed on data made available to the user of the first mobile communication device by other users, where each user is associated with a different one of a multitude of mobile communication devices. The sharing of the data and the search for shared data is made via a server with which the mobile communication devices are in communication. The discovery of applications whose names or descriptions are partially or fully matched to the alphanumeric characters is made despite the fact that user was not looking for or aware of the existence of such application programs.

Abstract: The present disclosure is generally directed to a solar distillation system capable of recovering potable water from non-potable water. In certain embodiments, the system includes a substantially air tight solar still having a roof top composed of a solar light-transmitting material. The solar still includes a tube positioned below and running underneath the roof top, the tube having an exit end. Additionally, the solar still includes a heating surface positioned below the roof top and adapted for receiving at least a portion of the non-potable water exiting the tube at the exit end. Non-potable water on the heating surface is solar heated and a portion of the non-potable water evaporates and condenses on the outside of the tube to be collected as potable water.
