  • Patent number: 7273253
Abstract: A task chair, including a backrest assembly and a seat assembly pivotally coupled both to one another and to side portions of a fixed yoke member for synchronized movement, in which the seat of the seat assembly moves upwardly and forwardly concurrently with recline of the backrest of the backrest assembly. The chair further includes a tension assembly including an elongate tension member, such as a leaf spring, secured at one end thereof to the yoke member, and a contact member, such as a contact roller, adjustably mounted to the seat assembly. The contact member engages the tension member such that the tension member resists recline of the backrest assembly and concurrent movement of the seat assembly from their initial positions, and also provides a restoring force which tends to move the backrest to its initial upright position and the seat to its initial rearward and lowered position.

  • Patent number: 7234777
Abstract: A task chair is disclosed, including a base, a seat supported by the base, and a pair of uprights connected to the base and extending upwardly from the seat. A pair of armrests are attached respectively to the uprights, and are selectively positionable along the uprights in a manner in which the height of the armrests along the uprights is adjustable. A backrest is also selectively positionable along the uprights, and the height of the backrest with respect to the seat may be adjusted by moving the backrest upwardly or downwardly along the uprights. The armrests and backrest each include mount sleeves telescopingly slidable along the uprights, each of the mount sleeves including a user-operable adjustment mechanism which includes a lever having a portion thereof selectively engagable with one of a series of holes along the uprights.

  • Patent number: 7111852
Abstract: A utility cart including a housing portion having a cabinet and a storage compartment disposed above the cabinet. A cover member is slidably mounted to the housing for movement between a first or closed position, in which the cover member is disposed above the storage compartment and substantially encloses the storage compartment, and a second or open position, in which the cover member is disposed in a cantilevered orientation with respect to the housing, such that the storage compartment is substantially exposed. A peripheral device, such as a projector, for example, may be stored within the storage compartment, such that the peripheral device is enclosed within the cart when the cover member is in its first position and is accessible when the cover member is in its second position. Additionally, the housing of the cart may include an electrical terminal incorporated therein for providing electrical power to the peripheral device.
