Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for cause-based funding and charity matching. The methods and systems enable charitable match funding based on cause and proximity. An individual and/or a charitable entity such as a nonprofit organization or corporation can pledge a charitable asset (e.g., currency, good, service, etc.) to a charitable cause and/or charitable recipient and have that pledge apportioned to the charitable cause and/or charitable recipient based on a request to apportion the charitable asset or based on redemption of a commercial offer (e.g., coupon, does-count offer) provided by a merchant. An account can be used to manage charitable assets such that they are distributed to a charitable cause and/or charitable recipient at the discretion of the individual and/or the charitable entity.
