  • Patent number: 9021344
Abstract: An off-line graphical user interface (GUI) system and method provide for input control of a three-dimensional coordinate measuring machine (CMM) using the CMM's probe. A GUI image presents a plurality of control operation icons associated with the CMM. A controller uses the CMM to locate the GUI image in a coordinate system of the CMM. The controller defines coordinates of the control operation icons and references the coordinates to the coordinate system of the CMM. The controller also defines a function activation zone associated with each of the control operation icons. Each function activation zone defines criteria relating movement of the CMM's probe therein to the operational function of the CMM associated with one of the control operation icons corresponding thereto. Satisfaction of the criteria causes the operational function of the CMM to be carried out by the CMM.

  • Patent number: 4476780
Abstract: A fluid actuated press is defined by two interlinked box shaped members having open sides with the upper member fixed and the lower member moveable with respect to the upper member. The top wall of the moveable member is positioned between the top and bottom walls of the fixed member and the space between the top wall of the moveable member and the bottom wall of the fixed member defines an expandable fluid chamber to receive pressurized fluid. When pressurized fluid is introduced into the chamber it expands the fluid chamber driving the moveable member in an upward direction toward the top wall of the fixed member and to apply a compressive force to a work piece positioned between the upper wall of the fixed member and the top wall of the moveable member. The walls of the boxed shaped member are reinforced with parallel bars which are notched or provided with tabs at the ends thereof to interlock with the bars of the adjacent connecting wall to oppose relative outward movement.

  • Patent number: 4289040
Abstract: A linear motion device particularly usable for providing a lateral movement stroke with vertical lifting and dropping performed at the extreme limits of movement of the lateral stroke which includes a base, two vertical shafts fixedly secured to the base and extending upwardly therefrom, a yoke movably secured to the vertical shafts to be vertically movable with respect thereto. The yoke member including a yoke pin extending outwardly therefrom into a lift cam which is circular and rotatably driven by being fixedly secured to a drive shaft, the lift cam achieving selective vertical movement of the yoke member responsive to the profile of the cam therein.

  • Patent number: 4211077
Abstract: The apparatus of the present invention is comprised of transfer tanks which are located below the hydraulic head of a dam. Connected to the transfer tanks are air inlets extending from the transfer tanks to the atmosphere, and having check valves located therein. A water inlet and valve, interconnect the transfer tanks with the fluid behind the dam, and a water outlet and valve empty the transfer tank downstream of the dam. A storage tank is interconnected to the transfer tank by transfer lines having check valves at their transfer tank ends, and a turbine outlet extends from the storage tank to an air driven turbine. In one embodiment of the invention two transfer tanks and one open-bottomed storage tank are located on the upstream side of the dam at its base. In this embodiment water outlets pass from the bottom of the transfer tanks through the face of the dam.
