  • Patent number: 9145680
Abstract: A manufactured composite insulating panel comprises an external sheet having an outer face and an inner face, an internal sheet having an outer face and an inner face, and an insulating body between the inner face of the external sheet and the inner face of the internal sheet. The external sheet has a portion that extends beyond the internal sheet and the insulating body to define an overlap part for overlapping with part of an adjacent panel, on assembly and a seal is applied to the inner face of the overlap part of the external sheet. The panel has a side overlap part to which a side seal is factory applied. An end seal is also factory applied to an end overlap part of the panel.

  • Patent number: 8769898
Abstract: A facade/wall system comprises a number of modules. Each module comprises a plurality of insulating panels which have connection means on opposite sides thereof for interengaging the panels together at joints between the panels. Reinforcing elements in the form of top hat sections bridge the joints between adjacent panels. The top hat reinforcement elements used to interconnect adjacent panels in a module ensure that the composite panels act together as monolithic structure that creates a diaphragm while providing a surface to which cladding can be fixed and also providing a cavity between the panels and the cladding attached to the modules. They stiffen the panels and thereby enhance resistance to deflection. The system is cost effective and relatively easy and quick to install.

  • Publication number: 20140041715
Abstract: A composite insulating panel comprises an external sheet, an internal sheet, and an insulating body between the sheets. The external sheet has a first longitudinally extending raised side underlap projection at one side and a side overlap projection on the opposite side of the panel with a substantially flat portion extending between the projections. A photovoltaic solar collector is mounted to the flat portion of external sheet. The solar collector comprises a photovoltaic sheet and a protective translucent cover for the photovoltaic sheet. A first adhesive layer is provided between the photovoltaic sheet and the translucent cover. A second adhesive layer is provided between the underside of the photovoltaic sheet and the external surface of the composite panel upper or external sheet.

  • Patent number: 8316598
Abstract: A translucent wall panel includes a single body of translucent polycarbonate material having skin walls and a multiwall support extending between the skin walls. The skin walls include an outer weather wall, an inner liner wall, a longitudinally extending first side and a longitudinally extending second side opposite to the first side. The first side has outer projecting and recess parts and the second side has outer projecting and recess parts. The projecting and recess parts of the first side are of mating form with corresponding recess and projecting parts respectively of the second side for engagement between the first side of one panel and the second side of another like panel. The sides have additional spacer recesses which are aligned so that when two similar panels are aligned adjacent to one another a spacer element bridges a gap between the panels and a support frame element such as a purlin.

  • Patent number: 8316603
Abstract: An insulated panel includes a first panel portion and a second panel portion which are identical. Each panel portion includes an outer profiled sheet and an inner backing tray with a foam core therebetween. The panel portions each have external sheet overlap parts and backing sheet overlap parts. The corresponding overlap parts of adjacent panel portions are bonded together at the overlap. The bonding may be by an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 8172972
Abstract: An insulating panel 1 comprises a first sheet 2, a second sheet 4, and a body of insulating foam 5 between the sheets 2, 4. The foam 5 has a plurality of longitudinally extending conduits 7 through which a heat exchange medium such as air is circulated. A barrier 10 is used to create an enlarged void space for air circulation. The barrier is located below profile crowns 3 to prevent foam from entering the crowns 3 and to create additional foam-free voids below the crown. Heat transfer efficiency is increased.

Abstract: A roof system comprises a lower layer of composite insulating panels (2), a protective barrier layer (3) and an upper decorative layer (4) which provides a roof garden. The panels (2) comprise a profiled internal sheet (5), a generally flat external sheet (6) with an insulating core (7) therebetween. The panels (2) provide a mechanically strong roof structure to support the garden layer (4). The panels (2) are protected by a roof barrier membrane (11).

  • Patent number: 6743483
Abstract: An insulated foam board is manufactured by leading a first facing from a reel and laying down liquid foam reactants. A second facing from a supply reel is laid over the reactants forming a sandwich. The foam is expanded in an oven and the board is cut to a desired length. One or both facings are removed and re-wound onto a reel for re-use. A coating in the form of a metallized paint is applied in-line to one or both faces of the foam core, after removal of the facings. The painted boards have enhanced heat insulation properties.
