Patents Assigned to Kinugawa Rubber Ind. Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 5538578
Abstract: A method of joining end portions of a weatherstrip consists of introducing the end portions to openings in a mold such that a seal portion of the weatherstrip is compressed substantially to the shape of a seal lip of the seal portion. The end portions are separated in the mold by a predetermined gap and a rubber material is injected into the gap for mutually bonding the end portions of the weatherstrip. Such a method of joining allows the weatherstrip to be installed on complexly shaped openings with no degradation of sealing characteristics over the perimeter covered by the weatherstrip. A molding apparatus for joining said end portions includes a clamping member for assuring correct positioning of a sealing edge of the weatherstrip.

  • Patent number: 5476626
Abstract: A method for forming a weatherstrip includes extruding a compound formed of 1-10 weight of polyglycidyl methacrylate having an epoxy group in the molecular structure thereof added per 100 parts of a rubber compound formed of SBR/EPDM. As the compound is extruded from the extruder, a urethane coating material is supplied to a nozzle to accomplish coating of an article concurrently with forming thereof. The extruded article is then vulcanized to assure good sealability.

  • Patent number: 5471856
Abstract: A bending processing apparatus includes upper and lower molds made of a flexible synthetic resin material which are interposed between end surfaces of a plurality of driven cylinders opposing a corresponding plurality of movable cylinders. This arrangement is mounted on a base stand and an article to be subjected to bending processing is supported by pressure between the upper and lower molds. A control unit is provided for controlling a stroke amount, stroke order and speed of the respective cylinders such that pressing force may be uniformly obtained during bending processing, thus wrinkling or finding in the article during processing is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5395579
Abstract: A method of producing a weatherstrip for an automotive vehicle is included. This weatherstrip includes generally a sliding seal portion for sealing between a vehicle body and a window glass and a weatherstrip base portion for bordering an open edge of the vehicle body. The sliding seal portion is made of rubber material with which lubricant is blended so that the lubricant bleeds out of an outer surface of the sliding seal portion with use for providing low friction against sliding movement of the window glass. The weatherstrip base portion is made of conventional rubber material including no lubricant and is one-piece molded with the sliding seal member by extrusion molding.

  • Patent number: 4708329
Abstract: A fluid-filled power unit mount device consists of a mount rubber securely interposed between two base plates. A partition plate is securely connected to one of the base plate so as to define fluid and auxiliary chambers on the opposite sides thereof. The partition plate is formed with an orifice to provide fluid communication between the fluid and auxiliary chambers, and provided with two parallely arranged movable mechanisms each having a movable member. The movable member is movable under small amplitude high frequency vibration causing booming noise, but restrained from its movement under large amplitude low frequency vibration, thereby effectively damping even vibration which is slightly higher in frequency than the booming noise generating high frequency vibration.
