    Abstract: A highly efficient desulfurization method for removing a hydrogen sulfide and a sulfur dioxide simultaneously comprises the step of contacting a gas containing the hydrogen sulfide and the sulfur dioxide with water, or an aqueous solution containing a first heterogeneous catalyst for desulfurization to oxidize the hydrogen sulfide with the sulfur dioxide. 3˜5% sulfur-containing tail gas exhausted from, especially, Claus Process can be treated at a high efficiency of over 99%.
