Abstract: An antenna for a built-in multimedia receiver in a vehicle to use a multimedia service such as HD radio, DMB, and the like. The antenna may function as a message board that may externally display a predetermined message, such as driver's phone number, as well as receive the multimedia signal. The antenna not only receives a multimedia service signal but also transmits the multimedia service signal to a basic multimedia reproduction device included in the vehicle, thus enabling efficient addition of another multimedia receiver to the vehicle with the minimum wiring.

Abstract: Disclosed is a wireless remote controller using a time division protocol. A satellite radio equipped with the wireless remote controller is also disclosed which performs an audio processing operation for time division multiplexing (TDM) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signals respectively transmitted from satellites and a terrestrial repeater by demodulating and digitally processing the TDM and OFDM signals. The remote controller includes a transceiver for performing a bi-directional communication through a single channel in such a manner that transmission and reception sides are sync with each other in accordance with a time division duplexing scheme, the transceiver wirelessly transmitting a command from a user, and executing a response received thereto. A Bluetooth radio modem and a commercially available inexpensive protocol can be used, so that it is possible to inexpensively provide, to the driver, the same convenience and advantages as the conventional system.

Abstract: A dual-antenna system for receiving signals transmitted via satellite and by terrestrial stations within a single broadcasting service. The dual-antenna system comprises a multi-layer printed circuit substrate as a mounting plate and a satellite antenna including a patch antenna array which has four microstrip patch antenna radiating elements provided on a top surface of the first backgrounded dielectric substrate mounted on the top face of a multi-layer printed circuit substrate, a second dielectric superstrate covering the top face of the first backgrounded dielectric substrate with the dielectric constant higher than that of the first dielectric substrate, and a low-profile radome having top and bottom sections that join together for waterproofingly housing the multi-layer printed circuit substrate assembly and antenna elements therein.
