  • Publication number: 20080190790
Abstract: A cardboard box for protectively storing perishable paper products that includes protective materials that protect the box and its contents from any of a number of threats including water damage, fire damage, insects, mold and fungi. The box comprises a bottom wall, side walls and a lid that surround and define an interior cavity in which the paper products are stored. Each of the bottom wall, side walls and lid are made from cardboard. Protective materials are applied to one or more of the bottom wall, side walls and lids by either impregnating the cardboard with a suitable chemical, applying a film over the cardboard or spraying a coating thereover. Suitable chemicals that produce the desired properties include, but are not limited to wax, oil, plastic, polybrominated diphenyl ether, polybrominated biphenyl, brominated cyclohydrocarbons, boric acid and hydrogen peroxide.

  • Publication number: 20080116313
Abstract: A tape dispenser having a frame and a pair of opposed, unequal diameter hub mounts for rotatably mounting an adhesive tape roll thereon. A hub is provided for supporting the roll of tape thereon and for engaging the hub mounts. The hub comprises a generally cylindrical body having open ends of equal diameter. The diameter of these ends is large enough to engage the larger diameter hub mount but is too large to engage the smaller diameter hub mount. A ring adaptor is provided for insertion into one of the ends to effectively reduce the internal diameter of that end. The hub can therefore be oriented so that the adhesive side of the tape supported thereon will be facing downwardly when dispensed. The adaptor is inserted into the appropriate end of the hub body so that the hub is configured to engage the two unequal diameter hub mounts.

  • Patent number: 7367523
Abstract: A tape dispenser having a frame and a pair of opposed, unequal diameter hub mounts for rotatably mounting an adhesive tape roll thereon. The tape roll includes a hub about which the tape is wound and has first and second open ends with unequal diameter openings. Each of the hub mounts is compatible in diameter with a respective one of the hub open ends requiring the tape roll to be correctly mounted on the hub mounts to insure the adhesive side of the tape be properly oriented.

Abstract: A shipping and display assembly for a plurality of complementary primary and secondary products such as wrapping paper and adhesive tape. The assembly includes a box having a first section and a second section which are connected together for shipping and are separable for displaying the products. The first section includes a first compartment for holding and displaying the primary products and a second compartment for holding and displaying the secondary products. • Patent number: 7175062
Abstract: A tape dispenser dispenses rolled adhesive tape spirally wound on a hub. The dispenser has first and second side members, and a cutter member. Each of the side members has a first major side portion which overlies a roll of adhesive tape within the tape dispenser. A cylindrical axle portion is formed centrally on the inside surface of the first major side portion of each of the side members, and the cylindrical axle portions are telescopically received one in the other. At least the first side member is flexible in the region of the first major side portion, so that when it is flexed towards the second side member, the telescopic axle becomes shorter, and an interference of the hub and/or the tape with the side members occurs. Thus, a braking effect is imparted to the roll of adhesive tape, so as to preclude unwanted unreeling of the spirally wound adhesive tape from the hub.

  • Patent number: 7093640
Abstract: A tape dispenser having a frame, a cutter blade and a non-rotatable pressure pad is disclosed. The dispenser holds a roll of adhesive tape therein. The cutter blade and pressure pad are secured together and are snap-fitted into the frame so that the blade extends a short distance beyond the front edge of the frame. The pressure pad applies pressure to the adhesive tape as it is being dispensed from the tape dispenser. The frame has side walls that each have a tab formed thereon. The tabs are positioned a short distance to the rear of the pressure pad and they do not extend below the lower edge of the side walls of the dispenser. The tabs are positioned and shaped in such a manner that tape from the roll is supported on the top surface of the tabs. The tape is biased into contact with the pressure pad by the tabs so that the tape is ready to be dispensed from the roll and is prevented from curling back onto the roll when cut.
