Abstract: A method of facilitating control of a distributed energy resource which includes establishing, at a platform in communication over a network with the distributed energy resource, a first control access bundle of a first rank. The first control access bundle defines a first container including a first plurality of control events for controlling a distributed energy resource. A second control access bundle of a different, second rank is also established at the platform. The second control access bundle defines a second container including a second plurality of control events for controlling the distributed energy resource. Consolidated control events are generated from the first plurality of control events and the second plurality of control events, which may be of different priority. Events corresponding to the consolidated control events are sent to the distributed energy resource, the events controlling one or more parameters of the distributed energy resource.

Abstract: A smart energy device performs a method which includes executing, during a first time period, a first control event wherein an operational parameter of the smart energy device is controlled by the first control event during a first time period. A second control event is then executed, during a second time period, wherein the operational parameter of the smart energy device is controlled by the second control event during a second time period beginning at an end of the first time period. In response to detection of a first defined trigger condition, the method includes opting out of control of the operational parameter of the smart energy device by the second control event and transitioning to control of the operational parameter of the smart energy device by the first control event during a third time period following the detection of the first defined trigger condition.

Abstract: A method of assessing the reliability and availability of a distributed energy resource (DER) device included among a plurality of DER devices in communication with a platform over a network. The method includes monitoring, by the platform, behavior of the DER device. This may include monitoring an extent to which the DER device is available to engage in communication with the platform over the network. This monitoring may also include determining whether the DER device acknowledges control commands sent to the DER device over the network and determining whether the DER executes the control commands in conformance with at least one of a standard and a regulation. The method further includes determining, based upon the monitoring of the behavior of the DER device, a value of a reliability and availability score for the DER device.
