    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a guitar that has a detachable neck for ease of transport and storage. The body is attached to the neck in the preferred embodiment by means of a lever actuating clamp providing a clamping force substantially parallel with the longitudinal axis of the neck and body and the tensioned strings so that when reassembled the guitar strings regain their prior pre-assembled state of tune.
