  • Patent number: 4152399
Abstract: In the thermal purification of effluent gases charged with noxious substances by burning them with air at high temperatures, the improvement which comprises drawing the effluent gases charged with noxious substances through a zone established by a device which provides protection against back-firing and a combustion zone which is resistant to bursts of pressure of up to about 10 bars, and burning the effluent gases in the combustion zone at a temperature of about 800.degree. to 1000.degree. C. To carry out the process there is provided an apparatus comprising a back-firing safety device followed by a heat exchanger and then a combustion chamber. Components of the heat exchanger are made resistant to pressures of up to about 10 bars and the safety device prevents back-firing to the plant wherein the effluent gases are produced.

  • Patent number: 4116022
Abstract: Apparatus for printing upon webs of textile material by sublimation of the dye of a web of printing foil covering the web of textile material. The apparatus includes a rotatable cylinder having looped therearound the web of textile material, the web of printing foil, and a pressing-on or transporting belt. The apparatus furthermore includes a vacuum chamber adapted to be connected to a source of vacuum, and also includes a heating device. The vacuum chamber is defined by a vacuum cap which sealingly engages sections of the cylinder and the pressing-on or transporting belt.

  • Patent number: 4078323
Abstract: Webs of paper, textile, synthetic material, metal or the like are subjected to a continuous treatment through the application of pressure produced by magnetic forces exerted via pressure bodies perpendicularly to the web. The web is guided over a straight or arcuate supporting surface and the pressure bodies extend over the width of the web. The pressure bodies are constituted by a plurality of freely movable balls, rings, rollers or pins having less diameter, or length, respectively, than the width of the band and are held adjacent one another essentially in the transverse direction of the band. The plurality of balls, rings, rollers or pins are held in a stacked offset relationship transversely and/or in the direction of web travel in such a manner that the web is subjected to pressure by the pressure bodies over its entire width. The pressure bodies may be held in position by means of cages, strips, struts, rods or the like, or may be positioned and maintained by the magnetic field.

  • Patent number: 4043157
Abstract: A sealing arrangement for use at the inlet and outlet of containers in which a pressure above or below atmospheric pressure prevails, especially for treating webs of textile material. The sealing arrangement comprises two endless belts respectively looped around two pairs of reversing rollers with the rollers of each pair spaced from each other so that straight belt sections are formed between the rollers of each pair of reversing rollers. The web of goods is passed between two adjacent straight belt sections, which respectively pertain to the two endless belts, and rim portions, and which seal the space surrounded by the belts and located between the rollers against the pressure surrounding the container.

  • Patent number: 4002346
Abstract: A roller sealing head for overpressure and underpressure containers, especially for processing webs of textile and synthetic material with non-fixed application of print or dye or for non-treated webs of goods, in which a first sealing roller has a second sealing roller arranged opposite and in spaced relationship thereto while two endless sealing strips held in a rim-shaped frame are respectively associated with the first and second sealing rollers. The roller sealing head furthermore includes a hollow roller of a narrower width than that of the first and second sealing rollers. The arrangement is such that the web of goods to be processed is directly passed through between the hollow roller and one of the first and second rollers, while only one straight section of each endless sealing strip engages the inside of the hollow roller whereas the curved sections of the sealing strips as well as the second straight section of each sealing strip engages the sealing rollers.

  • Patent number: 3950802
Abstract: The invention relates to a novel process for continuous washing of a textile web in flattened condition by guiding the web along a zig-zag-shaped path over a plurality of guide rolls arranged in two vertical parallel rows in a vessel, while maintaining in said vessel a temperature of at least 100.degree. C and an over-pressure of at least 1 atm., and while subjecting at least one side of the substantially horizontal sections of the web between successive guide rolls to spraying with a wash solution. The invention also includes the apparatus in which said process is carried out.

  • Patent number: 3948166
Abstract: A device for separating the rollers of a calender with a suspended spindle held at its upper end on the calender frame or the uppermost roller bearing on each calender side with supporting members which are adjustable in the longitudinal direction of the spindle and which when lifting the rollers from each other abut from below against supporting parts of the roller bearings and are adapted to be secured against rotation. The suspended spindle is divided into screw elements which respectively are associated with each intermediate roller and which have their end sections provided with threaded sections oriented in opposite directions. These screw elements are adjustable independently of each other. The supporting members provided between the threaded sections oriented in opposite directions are adjustable toward and away from the supporting parts of the roller bearings.

  • Patent number: 3942434
Abstract: A device for adjusting the roller gap of superimposed rollers of a calender with upwardly and downwardly movable spindles suspended on both sides of the calender which extend through supporting means on lateral ends of roller bearings. Below each supporting means a spindle nut is adjustable relative to the pertaining supporting means. The distance between each spindle nut and the supporting means thereabove is adapted to be sensed. Each supporting means carries a feeler head of a proximity switch and a vertical guiding bar having guided thereon a marker adjustable by the respective spindle nut on the pertaining guiding bar in the longitudinal direction of the pertaining guiding bar.
