Abstract: A method for determining the adjustment of a crusher gap setting and/or crusher rate of wear in a gyratory crusher with hydraulic adjustment of the crusher cone height. The invention allows measurement of the gap while the machine is in motion and this data permits automatic adjustment during operation.
Abstract: A device for taking test samples from a fluid material including passing the material gravitationally downwardly through a first chamber and through a sample divider plate having a plurality of radially extending openings with a sample takeoff passage receiving a sample through one of the openings and directing the sample to a second chamber which is provided with a second sample divider plate also having openings and with a second sample takeoff receiving a sample from one of the openings and directing it to a third chamber having a sample divider with a plurality of openings and taking a sample through one of said openings with a third sample takeoff passage.
Abstract: A calcining method and apparatus are provided wherein material to be treated is fed into the top of the furnace and the finished material discharges from the bottom of the furnace and cooling and combustion air enters under forced draft through the bottom of the furnace and flows upwardly through the column of material. A part of the fuel supply is delivered to the region between an upper preheating zone in the furnace and a subjacent combustion or firing zone and the balance of fuel required for firing is introduced into the combustion zone about its periphery. Provision is also made for bypassing part of the cooling air from a lower cooling zone to the combustion zone, with intermediate cleaning of the bypassed air.
