Abstract: A surface-mounted linear lighting system includes a metal extrusion having an elongated element having a substantially U-shaped cross-section comprising a first vertical sidewall, a second vertical sidewall and a horizontal floor joining the first and second sidewalls, a first groove on an exterior of the first vertical sidewall, a second groove on an exterior of the horizontal floor, a third groove on the exterior of the horizontal floor, and a fourth groove on an exterior of the second vertical sidewall; and a plurality of articulating fasteners configured for coupling to a pair of grooves in the metal extrusion selected from the group: the first groove, the second groove, the third groove and the fourth groove, fastening to a surface, and providing a hinged connection between the metal extrusion and the surface.
Abstract: A custom LED lighting fixture system has a planar opaque top element and an opposing planar translucent bottom element that can be custom fabricated to take any number of shapes. Upon fabrication of the top and bottom elements into an irregular circumferential shape, for example, a first aluminum extrusion is fitted to the left side, and a second aluminum extrusion is fitted to the left side. The first and second extrusions adapt to the shapes of the top and bottom elements. The extrusions comprise a first channel on the interior surface configured to accept the top element, and a second channel configured to accept the bottom element. A first end cap couples to a first end of the first and second extrusions. A second end cap couples to a second end of the first and second extrusions. An LED strip is operational on an interior surface of the top element.
Abstract: A dual extrusion system for an LED light fixture comprises a first extrusion and a second extrusion. The first extrusion has a channel shape and dimensioned to enable underground installation. The first extrusion includes a gutter on an exterior surface, used for connecting multiple first extrusions. The first extrusion also includes multiple flanges on either side of the exterior for stabilizing first extrusion in the ground. The first extrusion also includes interior flanges on either side for providing a floor to receive the second extrusion. The system also provides a second extrusion comprising a channel that is placed within the first extrusion. The second extrusion includes free edges extending along a top brim. Free edges hold a plastic cover. The second extrusion also includes exterior flanges for engaging with interior flanges of first extrusion. The second extrusion also has flanges that create a floor to retain LED strips.
