  • Patent number: 5433327
Abstract: Disclosed is a merchandise display rack also known as a "gondola", in which each post has a bottom and from which two flat tabs horizontally extend away in the same direction as hookable half-bases used to hold the post vertical. A retaining pin is rigidly connected to each half-base or tab is in such a manner as to engage and fit into a corresponding hole made in the corresponding tab or half-base when this half-base is rigidly connected to the post. As a result, most of the shearing force that usually applies to the lower hooks of the half-bases when the rack is loaded with merchandise onto one size only, is transferred to the tabs by the retaining pins, thereby making it possible for the rack to receive a heavier load on this one size.

  • Patent number: 5415301
Abstract: Disclosed is a structural member for use as a vertical supporting post in a merchandise display rack. This member is made of two identical, longitudinally extending end plates that are W-shaped in cross-section and oriented in such a manner as to face each other, and of two identical, longitudinally extending side plates that are welded to the end plates to join the same and form the member. The end faces of the end plates are provided with three parallel rows of longitudinal slots for use to hook a footing at the bottom of the post, or one or more shelves along the same. With very slight changes only, the side plates may also be used as tie-bars for interconnecting the posts of the rack.

  • Patent number: 5193828
Abstract: A dolly structure mounted at each end of a display rack is disclosed. It has, at each end of the rack, a pair of flat frames removably fixed to a vertical shelf post in a manner such that the two flat frames are aligned and coplanar. A pair of caster assemblies are mounted on the outer side members of the frames, outwardly of the base of the display rack. Each assembly has a caster which is movable between a low and a high position such as to allow lifting of the rack from the ground when it is intended to displace it.
