Abstract: An exchangeable magazine (1) for a storage shelf (54) comprises two side walls (3, 4) interconnected via webs (5), superimposed items (2) being stacked therebetween, the side walls (3, 4) including lower, inwardly angled end portions (17) for supporting the item stack. To adapt the magazine to different dimensions of the items (2), the mutual distance of the side walls (3, 4) is adaptable to the width (B) of the items (2) by aid of the webs (5) wherein on at least one side wall (3, 4), at least one guide rail (18) extending in parallel to the side walls (3, 4) and capable of engaging the item stack over the height thereof is mounted to be displaceable in the direction of the depth (T) of the items (2).

Abstract: A commissioning device has several shift-out magazines arranged on a conveying path for accommodating items stacked therein. The items are introduced in insert spaces of the shift-out magazines in the form of item stacks. The shift-out magazines are preceded by an item stack throughput storage device each equipped with an itermittently operated advancing device, and when the advancing device is triggered, a row of item stacks present in said throughput storage device is moved forward by one receiving space, and the at least one foremost item stack is introduced into the insert space of the respective shift-out magazine. In the shift-out magazines, the insert spaces are located beside the shift-out spaces, and a transverse slide is arranged in the insert space for shifting the item stacks into an adjacent shift-out space.

Abstract: A method for automatically dispensing items from shelves includes the steps of orienting magazines for a particular type of item horizontally in multi-tier shelves in such a way that removal openings in the respective bottom side face walls of the item type magazines are horizontally aligned, assigning to each magazine tier at least one item pusher, simultaneously removing from the respective tiers the items belonging to a particular requisition order, collecting them in a collecting device, depositing them on or in a conveying device, and transporting them to merchandise delivery sites. The apparatus for facilitating use of the method includes a multi-tier shelf with item type magazines on each tier, an item pusher on each tier, and a conveyor for conveying the items removed from the magazines to transport apparatus.
