  • Patent number: 6368506
Abstract: The invention relates to a filter, especially an oil filter, comprising a carrier casing which borders a clean room/chamber. The filter also has a filter element which encloses the carrier casing. The filter element is comprised of zigzag shaped folded strip material, whereby the end folds of the filter element are adjacently held together. In order to construct the filter in such a way that a mass-production with a high operational reliability is guaranteed, a clamping strip which fastens the end folds of the filter element is arranged on the exterior surface of the carrier casing.

  • Patent number: 6089213
Abstract: On a lubricating oil fill line for an internal combustion engine, provided with an oil mist sediment tank installed in the fill area and designed to ensure the crank case ventilation, the oil flowing out of the oil mist sediment tank is recycled by the gravity force back to the crank case as return oil. This system has the following features: for the return oil is provided a return line from the oil mist sediment tank; the distal end of this return line relative to the sediment tank leads to the bottom area of a transfer tank especially designed to receive and recycle the return oil; a gas pressure is exerted at the overflow outlet of the overflow tank which corresponds to that to which the oil mist is submitted when back to the sediment tank. Such a facility permits to save space during the manufacture process.

  • Patent number: 5983870
Abstract: A process and device are provided to supply the air mass flux required to regenerate the adsorption material of an adsorption filter in the fuel tank venting system of an internal combustion engine while the engine is running and independently of a depression in the air intake pipe of the engine. For this purpose, atmospheric air is fed at least partially and temporarily by an air pump through the adsorption filter to the air intake pipe of the internal combustion engine while the engine is running. The air pump integrated in the device makes it possible to obtain a module which is easy to produce and to handle and which contains all units of the venting system.

  • Patent number: 5698097
Abstract: An oil filter for internal combustion engines is disclosed herein. The filter includes a housing with a bottom arranged below an open top and a screw-on cover threadedly engaged within the open top. The housing includes an inlet duct, a first oil discharge duct in the bottom of the housing, and a second oil discharge duct in the bottom of the housing and coaxially surrounding the first oil discharge duct. A support part is provided within the housing having a first end which is connected to the cover in an axially force-transmitting manner and a second free end inserted into the first oil discharge duct when the cover fully threadedly engaged to the open end of said housing to sealingly close the first discharge duct, and is withdrawn from the discharge duct when the cover is removed from the open end of the housing to enable discharging of oil from the housing via the first oil discharge duct.

  • Patent number: 5589060
Abstract: A filter for liquids is disclosed herein. The filter includes a filter housing containing an exchangeable filter element. A support part is provided within the housing that is separable from the at least one filter element and extends at least partly centrally through the interior space of the filter element. A means is provided for releasably attaching one end of said support part to the filter housing. The housing includes first and second radial inner seals for separating a crude space surrounding an exterior of the filter element from a clean space located within interior of the filter element with the radial inner seals being mounted within the housing at the axial ends of the filter element. The filter element is folded star-shaped and sealed on the face side and provided on the inside at each of its two axial ends with a sleeve having an interior portion resting against the radial inner seals.

  • Patent number: 5080790
Abstract: The instant invention provides a strip shaped filter material having a longitudinal plane with crimps molded therein for filtering a liquid or a gas comprising filter material being folded in a zigzag shape and having individual fold segments; said individual fold segments being held at a distance from one another via the crimps; said filter material having nondeformed filter strip segments adjacent to each crimp; said crimp having a zenith height; and the filter material having a thickness, in a cross section placed perpendicular to the longitudinal plane of the strip, which constantly decreases within the area of the crimps, starting from the nondeformed filter strip segments, up to the zenith height of the crimp, and that at the same time, the filter material is increasingly compressed in the direction of decreasing thickness.

  • Patent number: 4466817
Abstract: An exhaust gas separator for an internal combustion engine comprises an elongate housing (10) having an inlet (11) and an outlet (12), and annular disks (13) disposed within said housing between said inlet and outlet. Each disk is provided on both side surfaces with at least one open flow channel (14) which extends in the form of a spiral between the external periphery of the disk and its interior to provide communication between the exterior of the disk and its interior opening (19). The annular disks are arranged in a series and bear axially one against the other whereby the abutting side surfaces of adjacent disks serve to close the flow channels in said side surfaces. The spiral form of one of the flow channels in the abutting surfaces extending in the opposite sense to the spiral form in the other of said abutting surfaces whereby said flow channels in said abutting surfaces intersect each other at numerous positions (20).

  • Patent number: 4422790
Abstract: For lubricating-oil filters for combustion engines, wherein the space available for the installation and removal of the filter cartridge is very confined, there are provided, instead of one filter cartridge, at least two filter cartridges which are axially arranged in series one behind the other. In order to allow these filter cartridges to be installed or removed without difficulties, there is proposed for the connection of these filter cartridges an articulated connecting means which ensures that the filter cartridges can be tilted relative to each other. A clip hinge or a wire or plastics-material strip, provided with clasps or detents, can be used as the connecting means.

  • Patent number: 4287917
Abstract: For the damping of high-frequency vibrations in liquids under high pressure in conduit systems there serves a diaphragm (2) loaded by a spring (3) and surrounded on all sides by the liquid of the conduit system. When the liquid is stationary the diaphragm (2) acts as barrier in a free flow cross-section of the conduit system. When the liquid is flowing the diaphragm (2) is situated in the state of suspense in which it is held by the energy of flow of the liquid against the counteracting force of the spring (3) loading the diaphragm (2). The diaphragm (2) is set in a housing (1) installed in the conduit system in such a way that the liquid on the upstream side of the diaphragm (2) flows through an annular space (6) radially around the diaphragm (2). The diaphragm (2) is especially suitable for installation in the housing (9) of a liquid filter.
