Publication number: 20030192618Abstract: A modular container filling apparatus includes a simple pilot valve which can be operated by a push button, a bottle-engaging yoke, or a manual valve at the distal end of a bucket filling hose. The modular construction of the apparatus allows a plurality of units to be mounted side by side on a modular water manifold by bayonet-type sealing connections. An anti-foam venturi and spout mixes chemicals with the water and minimizes foaming when filling a bottle. A plurality of chemicals can be selected by a rotational selector without intermixing.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2003Publication date: October 16, 2003Applicant: Knight, Inc.Inventors: Paul M. Beldham, Donald W. Smeller, Christopher W. Nesselroad

Patent number: 6572260Abstract: A mixer apparatus for mixing materials such as feed is disclosed. The apparatus includes a container for the reception therein of the materials. The container has a base and a wall extending away from the base, the wall defining an opening disposed remote from the base for the reception therethrough of the materials. The arrangement is such that the base and the wall define therebetween an enclosure for the materials received through the opening. An auger is rotatably disposed within the enclosure, the auger having an axis of rotation extending through the base. A driven wheel is drivingly connected to the auger, the driven wheel being disposed on an opposite side of the base relative to the auger. A drive connected to a main source of power, the drive being drivingly connected to the driven wheel so that when the drive rotates, the auger is rotated within the enclosure for mixing the materials.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2001Date of Patent: June 3, 2003Assignee: Kuhn Knight Inc.Inventor: William S. Patent number: 6305042Abstract: A cleaning device having a cleaning head and an absorbent head is provided. The cleaning head is operable to clean a surface, and the absorbent head is operable to remove residual liquid remaining on the surface being cleaned. The cleaning head is attached to the distal end of a handle and is pivotally connected to the absorbent head. An actuator on the handle is displaceable in two positions to control the position of the cleaning head and absorbent head. In a first position, the cleaning head extends from the handle to clean the surface while the absorbent head is retracted. In a second position, the cleaning head is wrung while the absorbent head is pivoted to an extended position to absorb residual liquid on the cleaning surface.Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1999Date of Patent: October 23, 2001Assignee: New Knight, Inc.Inventor: Anthony Lalli

Patent number: 6240983Abstract: Foaming and lateral water leakage during the filling of a container with a foam-prone water/chemical mixture is minimized by using, at the inlet of the venturi nozzle which draws the chemical into the water, a water authority-approved resilient-sleeve air gap which furnishes air-free water to the venturi while providing a siphon-breaking air gap if water is not flowing into the venturi.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2000Date of Patent: June 5, 2001Assignee: Knight, Inc.Inventors: Paul M. Patent number: 5865551Abstract: A cleaning device includes a cleaning head, such as a mop, for cleaning surfaces. The device includes an elastically expandable reservoir for storing cleaning fluid. The reservoir is enclosed within a replaceable cartridge fitting within the handle of the cleaning device. The cleaning fluid flows from the reservoir to a discharge nozzle and onto the surface to be cleaned. A fluid controller is also provided to control the flow of fluid from the cartridge.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1996Date of Patent: February 2, 1999Assignee: New Knight Inc.Inventors: Anthony Lalli, Cosmo D. Bertino, III

Patent number: 5655248Abstract: Apparatus is provided for cleaning surfaces such as glass. A roller wringer mop having a sponge head uses cleaning fluid to clean a surface. To wring the cleaning fluid from the sponge head, an operator displaces the sponge head between two parallel roller segments. A wiper connected to the mop head wipes residual cleaning fluid from the surface that has been cleaned, and is connected to the mop head so as to avoid interfering with the wringing action of the sponge head.Type: GrantFiled: October 21, 1996Date of Patent: August 12, 1997Assignee: New Knight Inc.Inventors: Gregory I. Kieson, Anthony Lalli

Patent number: 5625918Abstract: An interchangeable head wringer mop with telescoping handle is provided. The device includes a handle and a mounting head. Rotatably connected to the mounting head is a wringer for wringing a sponge head. A plurality of interchangeable sponge heads having different configurations is provided. Each sponge head is removably connectable with the mounting head and is operable in connection with the wringer. Also provided are a pair of living hinges about which the sponge head bends during the wringing operation. Further, an extension telescoping within the handle is provided having two fixed positions.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 1996Date of Patent: May 6, 1997Assignee: New Knight Inc.Inventors: Gregory I. Patent number: 5528791Abstract: A wringer mop has a mop head housing, an elongated mop cartridge having an absorbent pad and a tubular mop handle. A pivot couples the mop head housing to the mop handle for pivotal movement therebetween. One or more pairs of spaced-apart wringer rollers are supported by the mop housing on either side of the mop cartridge to secure the mop cartridge within the mop head housing. An actuator mechanism includes a crank in the form of a linkage rod movably disposed within the tubular mop handle. A hooked end of the linkage rod extends within the mop housing into releasable pivotal engagement with the mop cartridge. The mop cartridge includes an tab having an opening therethrough which pivotally receives the hook. The actuator mechanism further includes a crank handle reversibly shiftable between first and second positions to pass the absorbent pad between the wringer rollers.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1995Date of Patent: June 25, 1996Assignee: New Knight Inc.Inventor: Frank G.
