    Abstract: A method is provided for controlling an electric parking brake of a utility vehicle, having a device including an electronic control unit and a manual control unit that communicates with the electronic control unit, and via which driver requests depending on the type of actuation of the manual control unit can be transmitted to the electronic control unit. The parking brake is applied following an action carried out by the driver of the utility vehicle, which action does not relate to the actuation of the manual control unit.
