Abstract: A method is provided for producing metal housings composed of at least two housing parts, in particular for units mounted in commercial vehicles. A corrosion prevention layer composed of zinc or a zinc-containing alloy is applied onto an outwardly facing surface of at least one housing part with a subsequent passivation, and a positive overlapping of an edge of one housing part by the edge of another housing part is effected by way of a relative movement of the housing parts being reciprocally aligned beforehand with regard to a die stamp, which plastically deforms the edge of housing part and/or the edge of the other housing part.
