Abstract: A vehicular seat, such as an aircraft seat, comprising a seat bottom portion, a seat back portion mounted for pivotal movement about a selected pivot axis and having a predetermined upright position, a tray assembly including a tray member and leg means mounted for pivotal movement about the pivot axis from a first storage position to a second in use position, the tray member mounted on the leg means and having a horizontal in use position and a storage position whereat the tray defines the rear surface of the seat back portion, the leg menas having first and second segments joined by a bend having a predetermined angle, and the leg means being selectively configured so that when the tray assembly is in the in use position the bend will be proximate the seat back and one of the segments will be substantially horizontal whereby the tray assembly will not interfere with the lateral leg movement of a user of the tray assembly.

Abstract: A vehicular seat comprising a seat portion made from a sheet of aluminum or the like, including a first substantially horizontally extending portion at the front of the seat, a second rearwardly declining portion defining the rear portion of the seat, a "V" shaped channel joining the first and second portions, and a strip of aluminum having a width selected to be wider than the opening of the "V" shaped channel and secured to the first and second portions along either side of the channel.
Abstract: A locking assembly for a seat leg of a vehicular seat which is to be releasably secured to a track member having a plurality of longitudinally spaced openings interconnected by slots in the top surface thereof and an internal channel communicating with these openings and slots, comprising a shear pin member selectively configured for substantial mating insertion into one of the spaced track openings, the shear pin member including a flange for engaging the top surface of the track when the shear pin is inserted into one of these openings, pad means selectively configured for insertion into at least one opening of the track member and for longitudinal displacement in the interior channel to a selected position beneath the track slots, control means for displacing the shear pin downwardly when the locking assembly is at the selected position until said shear pin flange engages the top surface of the track and for then displacing the pad means upwardly until the track member is forcefully clamped between the pad
Abstract: An aircraft seat having a pivotal seat back which has an upright position for occupancy and an advanced position for affording additional living space to the passenger occupying the next rearward seat including a detent mechanism to maintain the seat back in either of its positions and to allow passenger adjustment of the seat back between these two positions.
Abstract: In combination, a track member secured to the floor of a vehicle such as an airplane, the track member having a longitudinally extending slot communicating with an interior channel, a cover member including a top portion and a pair of downwardly projecting ribs having means at the bottom thereof for latchingly engaging the bottom edge of the slot and a vehicular seat which is to be releasably secured to the track member comprising a leg and a locking assembly secured thereto including a pivotally mounted control lever selectively displaceable from an elevated release position to a lowered locking position, the lever, when at the locking position, having a portion projecting upwardly above the track member having a width and height of elevation selected so that the upwardly projecting portion will fit within the volume defined by the top and downwardly projecting ribs of the cover member, the cover member comprising means for containing and concealing from view the upwardly projecting lever portion.
Abstract: A toilet including, a bowl having at the top thereof a substantially horizontal annular flange which merges into a substantially vertically extending annular lip portion, a pin secured to the bowl, an opening defined in the lip portion at a location remote from the pin, a flush ring having an annular flange for seating on the bowl flange portion, the flush ring including an outwardly projecting tab portion selectively configured for insertion into the opening, and latch means pivotally secured to the flush ring for selective locking engagement with the pin.
Abstract: A toilet system comprising a collecting tank, a pump extending downwardly into the collecting tank and having an inlet, a drain opening in the bottom surface of the collecting tank a selected distance beneath the pump inlet and having a size sufficient to receive large glass objects therein, a drain conduit extending downwardly from the drain opening, the pump including a recirculating conduit, the recirculating conduit being selectively positioned and having a selected size for discharging pumped liquid across the pump inlet whereby bottles which are being drawn upwardly into the pump opening will be deflected downwardly through the drain opening into the drain conduit.
Abstract: A self-contained toilet comprising a collecting tank, means for rinsing the interior of the collecting tank including a rinsing manifold, a rinsing conduit, and a check valve operatively connecting the rinsing manifold and rinsing conduit, and means for preventing liquid contained within the rinsing manifold from being forced through the check valve by a pressure differential thereacross including a second check valve, and check valve conduit means communicating at one end with one end of the second check valve and communicating at the other end with the rinsing means at a location proximate the connection of the rinsing manifold and the first check valve.
Abstract: A pump-filter assembly for a recirculating toilet comprising, an axial flow pump including a support tube and a drive shaft supported therein, means for rotating the drive shaft in first and second opposite directions, a first impeller secured to the drive shaft, the impeller being selectively configured to pump when the drive shaft is rotated in the first direction and to forcefully draw in air when the drive shaft is rotated in the second direction, the drive shaft extending below the support tube, a second impeller supported on the drive shaft at a location below the support tube for free-wheeling rotation thereon, a ratchet mechanism secured to the portion of the drive shaft extending below the support tube, and a pawl mechanism secured to the second impeller means for selective driving engagement with the ratchet mechanism when the drive shaft is driven in the opposite second direction, and filter means surrounding the axial flow pump.
Abstract: A recirculating sewerage system comprising a water closet, a selectively inclined effluent receiving member including filtering media at least at the upper portion thereof, means for directing the effluent flushed from the water closet onto the top surface of the effluent receiving member proximate the uppermost portion thereof whereby the liquid portion of the flushed effluent will pass through the filtering media and the solid portion of the flushed effluent will slide down the effluent receiving member, means for collecting the portion of the flushed effluent which passes through the filtering media, means for selectively recirculating the filtrate collected in the collecting means to flush the water closet, means for selectively draining the filtrate collecting means, means for collecting the portion of the flushed effluent which slides off of the effluent receiving member, a reservoir for receiving grey water discharge from a bathing facility, means for selectively directing grey water contained in the r
Abstract: A toilet comprising a toilet bowl including a flushing manifold, a first discharge opening, and a second opening proximate the discharge opening, means for selectively closing the first discharge opening so that the discharge of the contents of the toilet bowl through the discharge opening will be prevented, means for delivering a predetermined volume of flushing medium under pressure to the toilet bowl when the dicharge opening is closed, a conduit extending between the second opening and the flushing manifold including a pump, and means for operating the pump for a selected period of time after the predetermined volume of flushing medium has been delivered to the toilet bowl.
