Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for removing a security tag from an article are disclosed herein. A device for removing a security tag includes a housing including an opening positioned to receive the tag and at least a portion of the article. A magnet is supported adjacent the opening to retain a tag body and to release a retainer pin therefrom when the tag is inserted into the opening. A pin retractor is positioned in the housing opposite the magnet to capture the retainer pin and retract it from the tag body. The pin retractor is retracted into a collar to strip the pin from the pin retractor. A release frame is positioned proximate the magnet and movable between a first position wherein the magnet retains the tag body, and a second position wherein the tag body is moved away from the magnet, thereby releasing the tag body from the magnet.

Abstract: The present technology is directed to high performing trained machine learning models for information retrieval in a web store. In some embodiments, for example, when a search query is received from a user of an online retailer, a computer system associated with the online retailer accesses measurements of performance of sets of search results returned in response to previous user search queries. Each of the previous search results set is a set that was ranked by a machine learning model selected from a store of machine learning models that are each trained to rank search results. Based on the measurements of performance, the computer system selects a machine learning model to rank search results for a response to the received search query. The ranked search results are provided for output to the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating maps for retail environments and other indoor locations, such as via autonomous or other automatic processes, are described. In some embodiments, the systems and methods access images of a retail environment captured via multiple security cameras placed within the retail environment, and generate a two- or three-dimensional digital, virtual and/or interactive map that depicts a layout of the retail environment based on features extracted from the accessed images. For example, the systems and methods may extract and/or determine walkable paths within the images, and generate a two- or three-dimensional map that is based on placing the walkable paths within the retail environment.

Further still, the dispenser may communicate storage status updates to a remote device on which a related application can be executed, for updating a current storage status, and presenting a notification to a user of the remote device, suggesting the purchase of additional consumable items to replenish the dispenser. The related application may further present the user with other types of purchasing-related information, such as cross merchandise opportunities, a retailer located nearest to the user/mobile device where the additional consumable items can be purchased from, as well as other shopping-related features and/or functionalities.

Abstract: A cloud services management system and method that is capable of ensuring that communication between one or more cluster master(s) and cluster nodes is disclosed. The cloud services management system ensures secure communication that are not susceptible to security breaches even when the cluster master(s) and the cluster nodes reside in different networks (and/or have different security profiles, particularly in a public network). The cloud service management system utilizes three main communication paths: (1) a first route to manage communication between cluster master and a cluster; (2) a second route to manage communication between a cluster and one or more services/APIs; and (3) a third route to manage communication between a cluster and external domains. One purpose of these routes is to prevent direct communication between a cluster and the Internet (since such communication can be unsecured and prone to security risks and threats).
