    Abstract: A cargo handling vehicle such as a forklift truck having a push-pull unit is improved in responsibility, operation speed and in precise operability by: replacing a conventional hydraulic cylinder for moving a face member 10 back and forth along forks 9 of the vehicle with an electric motor 32. The thus employed motor 32 also eliminates a fear that a cargo 26 is smudged with oil leaking from the hydraulic cylinder and pressurized-oil supply pipes thereof. In cargo loading and discharging operation conducted by the cargo handling vehicle, the face member 10 of the push-pull unit of the vehicle is automatically operated so as to move back and forth along the forks 9 of the vehicle at the substantially same traveling speed as that of the vehicle in a direction counter to a vehicle traveling direction, whereby the sheet pallet B' carrying the cargo 26 is kept substantially stationary during cargo loading and discharging operation or the vehicle.

    Abstract: A forklift mast assembly for attachment to a self propelled vehicle includes a pair of outer masts horizontally spaced from each other, and a pair of inner masts disposed just inwardly of the outer masts for up and down rolling motion relative to the same. Each outer mast is of U shaped cross section, defining a space opening inwardly or toward the other outer member for rotatably receiving an inner roll on the bottom end of the associated inner mast. Each inner mast is of H shaped cross section, defining an outwardly open space for rotatably receiving an outer roll on the top end of the associated outer mast, and an inwardly open space for rotatably receiving one pair of carrier rolls on a prong carrier. The outer masts are further rimmed to bear the axial thrust of inner rolls when the prong carrier is loaded out of the perpendicular in the plane of the mast assembly. Preferably, the inner masts are also rimmed to bear against the outer rolls and, if desired, against the carrier rolls as well.

    Abstract: An electronically controlled fork-lift truck having a tilt-cylinder controlled mast and a lift-cylinder controlled fork, comprising a control board mounted adjacent to a driver's seat, the control board having formed thereon various push button switches and a display panel for displaying the heights of the fork, an electronic controller operatively connected with the control board for controlling the movements of the fork and mast, a fork height sensor for detecting the movement of the fork and generating signals denoting increments of that movement, and a tilt sensor for detecting the upright and a tilt-back position of the mast and providing a signal to stop the mast movement wherein the electronic controller can provide various functions including an automatic fork raising and lowering operation.
