  • Patent number: 8172215
Abstract: In a sheet stacking apparatus, a sheet stacking unit stacks sheets conveyed by a sheet conveyance device. Three sheet extraction portions allow to selectively extract the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit from one of three directions including the downstream side of the sheet conveyance direction and two directions perpendicular to the sheet conveyance direction. A plurality of first detection sensors are provided in at least two of the three sheet extraction portions to detect an object that enters the sheet stacking unit. A second detection sensor detects the moving direction of the sheets stacked on the sheet stacking unit. A control device stops the operation of the sheet conveyance device when the first detection sensor detects the object, and disables the detection operation of the first detection sensor corresponding to the moving direction of the sheets when the second detection sensor detects the moving direction of the sheets.

  • Patent number: 8166878
Abstract: An ultraviolet drying device (37) and a photoelectric sensor (70) for detecting the outer surface of a transport cylinder (36) are provided at a position close to the outer surface of the transport cylinder (36) arranged downstream in a sheet-like material convey direction of a reverse printing unit (11) for subsequent printing. When the ultraviolet drying device (37) is turned on and the photoelectric sensor (70) detects that a contamination-preventive member is mounted on the outer surface of the transport cylinder (36), the driving of a printing press stops. Also, when an IR lamp (46) of an infrared drying device (47) is turned on and the photoelectric sensor (70) detects that the contamination-preventive member is not mounted on the outer surface of the transport cylinder (36), the driving of the printing press is stopped. • Patent number: 8136446
Abstract: Provided is a pair of plates for a rotary processing machine having the following configuration and a method of mounting the same by which the pair of plates can be mounted on the respective outer circumferential surfaces of a pair of cylinders with high precision. When a female recessed plate and a male raised plate are overlapped with each other so as to make processing portions of the female plate correspond to those of the male plate, fitting protrusions are fitted into respective fitting portions. Accordingly, the movement of the fitting protrusions is restricted both in the width direction of the plates and in the mount direction of the plates. Concurrently, guiding protrusions are respectively inserted between corresponding pairs of guide protrusions in the guiding portions. Accordingly, the guiding protrusions are guided so that relative movement of the guiding protrusions is allowed only in the mount direction.

  • Patent number: 8127677
Abstract: A plate inserting apparatus includes a plate cylinder, press roller, and braking unit. A plate is to be mounted on the outer surface of the plate cylinder. The press roller is rotatably supported to oppose the outer surface of the plate cylinder. When the leading edge bent portion of the plate to be supplied to the plate cylinder abuts against the press roller and the distal end of the leading edge bent portion abuts against the outer surface of the plate cylinder, the press roller inserts the leading edge bent portion of the plate into a groove portion formed in the plate cylinder upon rotation (with a pressing force) of the plate cylinder. The braking unit keeps braking the plate at least since the leading edge bent portion of the plate abuts against the outer surface of the press roller and until the leading edge bent portion is completely inserted in the groove portion of the plate cylinder.
