Abstract: An adjustable structure is described herein according to various embodiments, including an inner tube member and an outer tube member. The inner tube member and the outer tube member are configured to move in at least one of a telescoping direction or a rotation direction with respect to one another. The adjustable structure further includes a first frictional element between the inner tube member and the outer tube member. The first frictional element provides friction in the telescoping direction. Furthermore, the adjustable structure includes a second frictional element between the inner tube member and the outer tube member. The second frictional element provides friction in the rotational direction.

Abstract: A joint device connects a first and second members and allows pivotal motion of one or both members. The joint device includes a housing having a slide surface and a guide surface. First and second rotating members are supported for rotation by the housing to pivot one or both members. A slide member carrying a spring is supported for movement on the slide surface with rotation of the rotating members. The spring is coupled to the first rotating member, and has an arm arranged for movement along the guide surface as the slide member moves along the slide surface. The spring member imparts a bias torque on the first rotating member, where the bias torque magnitude changes as the slide member moves along the slide surface.
Abstract: A roller skate device, including: at least one skate wheel. A cradle including a control wire. And a lever system coupled to the control wire, the lever system including at least one brake wheel that applies a braking force to the at least one skate wheel based on the motion of the cradle translated through the control wire.
