  • Patent number: 10408254
Abstract: A motion transmitting remote control assembly (100) comprises a first conduit section having a first end fitting (114) extending along a first longitudinal axis, and a second conduit section having a second end fitting (120) extending along a second longitudinal axis. The second end fitting has an open position where the second axis is transverse to the first axis, and a closed position where a portion of the first and second axes align. A first core element has a first coupler (128) mounted thereto, and a second core element has a second coupler (140) mounted thereto. A guide mechanism (144) having a first portion coupled to the first end fitting and a second portion coupled to the second end fitting, aligns the end fittings when the second end fitting is in the open position. The guide mechanism also guides the second end fitting toward the first end fitting until the second end fitting is in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 10190620
Abstract: A remote control assembly includes a sheath having a longitudinal axis along a length thereof and defining an interior. A liner is disposed within the interior and coupled to the sheath. A wire has an outer surface and the wire disposed between and coupled to the sheath and the liner. The outer surface of the wire defines a plurality of notches separated into a first group of notches and a second group of notches. Each notch within each of the first and second groups defines a first distance therebetween substantially along the longitudinal axis. The first group of notches and the second group of notches define a second distance therebetween. The second distance is greater than the first distance.

  • Patent number: 9810314
Abstract: A shifter assembly for changing gears in a vehicle transmission, including a housing and a shift rod rotatably supported in the housing. The shift rod is selectively movable between a plurality of radial positions. A disc is in rotational communication with the shift rod for concurrent movement between the radial positions. The disc defines a plurality of gates each having respective first and second ends. A plurality of solenoids are disposed in the housing adjacent the disc. Each of the solenoids has a plunger selectively movable between a first position spaced from the disc and a second position disposed within one of the gates. The gates are spaced equally from each other and are radially aligned about a common reference circle. Rotation of the shift rod is selectively limited by at least one of the plungers in the second position engaging at least one of the ends of the gates.

  • Patent number: 9021917
Abstract: The subject invention provides for a motion transmitting remote control assembly for transmitting motion in a curved path, including a terminal body defining a longitudinal axis and a cavity. The terminal body further defines a first opening extending transverse to the longitudinal axis. A locking member is disposed within the cavity and is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The locking member has a trigger portion retaining the locking member in the unlocked position and a securing portion. A biasing member is disposed within the cavity and abuts the locking member. The terminal body further defines a second opening extending transverse to both the longitudinal axis and the first opening into the cavity. The second opening provides access to the trigger portion to release the locking member from the unlocked position to the locked position and the securing portion at least partially closes the second opening.

  • Publication number: 20130081501
Abstract: A shifter assembly for providing mechanical and electronic actuation to a transmission and a method of operating the same is disclosed. A shift lever is pivotable about a first axis in a first mode for providing mechanical actuation, and a second mode for providing electronic actuation to the transmission. An arm is pivotable about the first axis concurrently with the shift lever in at least the first mode. The arm includes a first and second engagement surface. The shifter assembly includes a cam pivotable about a second axis between a first and second position. The first engagement surface urges the cam to move between the first and second positions as the shift lever pivots in the first mode. The second engagement surface abuts the cam as the shift lever pivots in the second mode such that the arm pivots about the first axis while the cam remains stationary.

Abstract: A transmission control assembly having a housing and a bracket pivotally coupled to the housing for movement along a first path. A yoke is selectively coupled to the bracket for concurrent movement with the bracket along the first path. The yoke is also selectively pivotal about a second pivot axis substantially transverse to the first pivot axis for movement along a second path. A tactile device is supported by the bracket and engageable with the housing. The tactile device moves about the bracket during the movement of the bracket along the first path. A locking mechanism is coupled between the bracket and the yoke. The locking mechanism moves between an unlocked position when the yoke is coupled to the bracket for allowing movement of the tactile device and a locked position engaged with the tactile device when the yoke moves along the second path for preventing movement of the tactile device.
