  • Patent number: 6893486
Abstract: A method and system for sea-based handling/treatment of fluid hydrocarbons (oil) with associated gas include a first separation step in a high-pressure separator (18) installed on the sea bed, from which is output an oil flow containing an essentially predefined percentage of residual gas. The oil containing residual gas is carried through a riser (22) up to a surface vessel/production ship (12), where it is subjected to a second separation step in a second separator (24) incorporated in a low-pressure surface plant on board the vessel (12), this separated residual gas being used as fuel for direct/indirect generation of electric power for the operation of the underwater and above-water sections of the system. Water and gas produced in the first separation step is returned to a suitable reservoir by the use of a multiphase pump.

  • Patent number: 6714153
Abstract: The invention is a well radar for detecting, by electromagnetic wave reflection, resistivity horizons in production zones in oil wells. Transmitter and receiver antennas are combined in a tubing string antenna module. Two dipole transmitter antenna are positioned in a first position on either side of the tubing string antenna module. A first directionally sensitive group of four dipole receiver antennas is positioned in a second positioned so that the receiver antennas have even angular separation. Likewise, a second directionally sensitive group of four dipole receiver antennas is positioned in a third position opposite the first directionally sensitive group.

  • Patent number: 6325158
Abstract: A method for mounting a seabed installation including a drilling template and a manifold on a mooring device anchored to the seabed. The mooring device comprises an open guide boring. The drilling template and the manifold are arranged to be suspended separately on, and lowered by a string which extends from an offshore platform. The method includes lowering the manifold and inserting a connected guide post which projects down from the manifold, in a guide hole of the drilling template. Thereafter, interacting sections of the central guide post and the guide hole respectively are made to cause an alignment of the manifold in a fixed rotational position relative to the drilling template during the introduction and before the manifold comes into contact with the drilling template. Finally, the manifold is lowered relative to the guide post after the contact thereof in the guide hole. No use is made of guidelines which extend from the platform to the seabed.

  • Patent number: 6196757
Abstract: The anchoring mechanism comprises a guide post lock formed in the shape of a sleeve. The sleeve is movable inside a guide post and can lock the guide post to a funnel of a seabed frame by means of lower lockpins passing through radial bores in the guide post. The guide post lock can be raised by an anchor lock for a wire. Raising the anchor lock enables the lockpins to be moved radially inwards. The anchor lock is also able to raise the guide post by upper lockpins in axial slots in the guide post lock passing through upper, radial bores in the guide post. The lower lockpins are pressed inwardly by means of the lower beveled edge of the funnel.
