Abstract: In the present invention, a specimen is made to flow on a metal film on a prism, and excitation light (?) is emitted in a predetermined direction. By changing the position of a reflective member that reflects the excitation light (?), and adjusting the orientation of a reflective surface of the reflective member, the incident angle (?) is changed while maintaining a state in which the excitation light (?) that enters the prism is reflected at a specific position on the metal film. The intensity of light to be generated on the metal film is measured, and the reflective member is positioned to match the position of the reflective member and the orientation of the reflective surface when a maximum amount of light is measured.

The hard coat layer has an absorber and the absorber is a triazine absorber or an inorganic UV absorber. MFP displays a webpage using a web browser, stores image data of the webpage currently displayed, and detects whether this webpage has been switched to another webpage upon a user operation (e.g., a click operation). Upon this page switch, MFP stores image data of the other webpage, which is now currently displayed. When a print instruction is issued, MFP enlarges/reduces images of the webpages previously and currently displayed so they can be printed on the same sheet in proper sizes, generates a print image showing the enlarged/reduced images of these webpages, and prints the generated print image.

Abstract: An image processing device acquires composition guideline data containing information specifying a plurality of manuscript data sets and the printing order of the data sets. The image processing device accesses an external device based on composition guideline data to acquire at least one of the manuscript data sets from that external device via communication. Abstract: An image based document index and retrieval method is described. During document indexing, each source document is analyzed to generate index information at document, page, region and unit levels. Region and unit level index information is generated by segmenting each text region into units, constructing unit length or unit density histograms, and analyzing the units in a few most frequent bins of the histogram. The index information and the source document images are stored in a database. During document retrieval, a target document is analyzed to generate target index information in the same way as during document indexing. The target index information is compared to stored index information in a progressive manner (from higher to lower levels) to identify source documents with index information that matches the target index information. Fuzzy logic is used in the comparison steps to increase the robustness of the document retrieval.
