Abstract: Provided is a magnified-projection optical system, which can retain a considerably long back focus although a focal length is short and which has a small chromatic aberration. The optical system comprises a projecting optical system, a relay optical system and a display element, which are sequentially arrayed from a screen side along the optical axis. The projecting optical system enlarges and projects the image, which has been linearly focused by the relay optical system, on the screen, and includes a negative group and a positive group arrayed sequentially from the screen side and having a negative optical power and a positive optical power, respectively. The optical system satisfies the following conditional relations of |Fb/F|>10 and 0.5<|F/Fp|<2.
Abstract: A variable-power optical system includes, in order from an object side thereof: a first lens group with a negative optical power; a second lens group with a positive optical power; a third lens group with a negative optical power; and a fourth lens group with a positive optical power. An interval between the first lens group and the second lens group decreases when a power of the variable-power optical system varies from a wide-angle end to a telephoto end. The second lens group includes at least one aspheric surface. The variable-power optical system satisfies the predetermined conditional expressions.
Abstract: Disclosed is an image forming apparatus including an image forming section to perform image formation based on a plurality of jobs, including: a control section to allow a display section to display switching information showing that a paper feeding tray to be used in performing the job is to be switched, the switching information displayed before the plurality of jobs are performed by the image forming section.

Abstract: Epipolar lines of first and second images are made consistent with each other in a paralleling step, so that it has the advantages (1) and (2) as set forth in the background section. Further, distortions of the first and second images are corrected in a correcting step, and, even if characters conversion is carried out, it can avoid excessively reduction of central portions in the first and second images or excessively enlargement of side edge portions. Thus, while maintaining of the above mentioned advantages (1) and (2), wide angle image acquiring method and a wide angle stereo camera device which make three-dimensional space holding possible can be provided.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus accesses a server that provides a Web application to enable Web application to be utilized. The image forming apparatus receives an instruction to utilize the Web application, and acquires a document expressing a Web page of the Web application in response to the received instruction. The image forming apparatus determines whether a previously-set fixed name is included in a URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) included in the acquired document. When it is determined that the fixed name is included in the URI, the image forming apparatus acquires data correlating to the URI from a predetermined location previously correlated to the fixed name. Using the acquired data, the image forming apparatus generates a display screen of the Web application based on the document.

Abstract: Fixing belt is brought into pressure-contact with the surface of fixing roller such that fixing belt rotates according to rotation of fixing roller, thereby forming, between fixing belt and fixing roller, fixing nip portion through which recording sheets pass. A pressing area of an opposing surface of pressing member contacting the surface of fixing roller via fixing belt is smaller in each end portion of the opposing surface in the axis direction of fixing roller than in a central portion of the opposing surface in the axis direction of fixing roller. This makes speed of conveying recording sheets faster in each edge portion in the width direction perpendicular to a recording sheet conveyance direction than in a central portion in the width direction. Thus, creases of recording sheets can be prevented while a recording sheet passes through fixing nip portion between fixing roller and fixing belt mutually brought into pressure-contact.

Abstract: A fixing device slide member has a surface 40a of a sheet body 40, which surface is made of heat-resistant resin. A specific wear rate on the surface 40a of the sheet body 40 in the ring-on-disc test is 10×10?8 mm3/(N×m) or less on condition that a counterpart material is aluminum, roughness Ra is equal to 0.2 micrometer, PV is equal to 51.2 MPa×m/min, and measuring time is 50 hours. Thus, the surface 40a of the sheet body 40 is enhanced in wear resistance so as to be free from generation of worn powder, which suppresses torque increase in a pressurizing belt caused by the worn powder.
