Publication number: 20140213905Abstract: An ultrasound system performs duplex colorflow and spectral Doppler imaging, with the spectral Doppler interrogation performed at a sample volume location shown on the colorflow image. The colorflow image is displayed in a color box overlaid on a co-registered B mode image. A color box position and steering angle processor analyzes the spatial Doppler data and automatically sets the color box angle and location over a blood vessel for optimal Doppler sensitivity and accuracy. The processor may also automatically set the flow angle correction cursor in alignment with the direction of flow. In a preferred embodiment these optimization adjustments are made automatically and continuously as a user pauses at points for Doppler measurements along a length of the blood vessel.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 14, 2012Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V.Inventors: Ashraf Saad, Thanasis Loupas, David Hull, Steven John Hill

Publication number: 20140171840Abstract: Initial setup of a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation device (100) is to be accomplished so that a contact pad (102) of the device makes the correct contact with the chest before the device starts giving chest compressions to the patient. Thereby situations where the contact pad is not in initial contact with the chest or situations where the contact pad initially compresses the chest too much are avoided. The position of the contact pad is measured during initial setup, and when contact between the chest and the contact pad is established, the actual position of the contact pad is measured and set as an initial position. Then a positioning range is set relative to the initial position. Therefore, the CPR device is provided with a positioning aid (131) which informs the rescuer when the contact pad is within the positioning range or when the contact pad is outside the initial positioning range.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 9, 2012Publication date: June 19, 2014Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS ELECTRONICS N.V.Inventors: Paul Aelen, Pierre Hermanus Woerlee, Igor Wilhelmus Franciscus Paulussen
