  • Patent number: 8328452
Abstract: The combination of a power toothbrush and an oral fluid, in which the oral fluid has the characteristic of changing viscosity, depending upon the action of a workpiece element portion, such as a flexible membrane, of the power toothbrush. The power toothbrush has two operating conditions. In one condition, the membrane moves toward and away from the teeth at a speed such that the fluid is liquid and flows easily to and around the teeth, including the interproximal regions. In the second condition, the membrane is moved at a significantly higher speed, in response to which the viscosity of the fluid increases substantially, having a shear rate at least as great as necessary to remove biofilm from the teeth.

  • Patent number: 8241918
Abstract: A beverage dispensing device including a housing, a tapping device for dispensing a beverage, a beverage container connectable with the tapping device, a freshness indicator device, a data input unit for recording replacement of the beverage container, a temperature sensor for measuring the storage temperature of the beverage, a temperature controller for adjusting the cooling temperature of a chiller, a storage unit for storing the freshness criteria, and a processing unit. The temperature sensor transmits the current beverage storage temperature to the processing unit and the processing unit calculates, depending on a recorded storage temperature period and based on stored freshness criteria, the actual freshness of the beverage, the time left until expiry of the freshness of the beverage and/or the date of expiry of the freshness of the beverage. The processing unit transmits the calculated data to the display.

  • Patent number: 6406963
Abstract: In a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device comprising a semiconductor body 1 which is provided at a surface 2 with a transistor comprising a gate structure 21, a patterned layer 10 is applied defining the area of the gate structure 21. Subsequently, a dielectric layer 18 is applied in such a way, that the thickness of the dielectric layer 18 next to the patterned layer 10 is substantially equally large or larger than the height of the patterned layer 10, which dielectric layer 18 is removed over part of its thickness until the patterned layer 10 is exposed. Then, the patterned layer 10 is subjected to a material removing treatment, thereby forming a recess 19 in the dielectric layer 18, and a contact window 28,29 is provided in the dielectric layer.
