  • Patent number: 7632411
Abstract: A method is provided for detecting filter clogging which are able to keep track of the filter clogging with precision and in detail. At least one pressure selected from the group consisting of a pressure Pa in a blood inflow portion (32a), a pressure Pv in a blood outflow portion (32b), a pressure Pf1 in a filtrate inflow portion (32c), and a pressure Pf2 in a filtrate outflow portion (32d) is measured continuously, then a variation (pressure waveform) of the pressure is analyzed, a clogging of a filter (32) is detected using the analyzed result. Thereby a clogging of a filter is detected early. As a result, it is possible to prevent from developing of the filter clogging by controlling a dosage amount of anti-coagulant properly and changing a flow rate of blood. The variation of the pressure wave may be analyzed by subjecting the variable to Fast Fourier Transform.

  • Patent number: 7633923
Abstract: Described is a transmission system (10) for transmitting an information signal (21) via a plurality of subchannels from a transmitter (12) to a receiver (16). The transmitter (12) first demultiplexes the information signal (21) into a plurality of information subsignals (33). Next, the information subsignals (33) are encoded according to a code with certain properties, e.g. a maximum distance separable (MDS) code, and multiplexed. Finally, the resulting subsignals (31) are channel encoded and transmitted to the receiver (16). The receiver (16) comprises a channel decoder (46,52,76,128) for successively channel decoding the received subsignals by incorporating decoding information (83,87,91) of already channel decoded information subsignals. Next, the resulting subsignals are demultiplexed, decoded according to said code and multiplexed into an output signal.

  • Patent number: 7633057
Abstract: A scintillator (18) includes radioactive elements which emit radiation of a characteristic energy, such as lutetium176, which emits 202 keV and 307 keV ?-rays. The scintillators have light output levels that vary and photomultiplier tubes that respond to the light scintillations tend to drift. When a scanner (10) is not generating diagnostic images, the photomultiplier tubes detect scintillations from the lutetium 176 radiation. A self-calibration processor (40) adjusts the gain for each photomultiplier tube such that its output peak corresponds to 202 keV or 307 keV and adjusts a scaling factor for PMT outputs corresponding to each scintillator such that the output peaks have a common amplitude.

  • Patent number: 7631991
Abstract: Light that is emitted from an LED chip at a first angle of incidence or less relative to the LED chip is permitted to leave the LED package. Light emitted from the LED chip at an angle of incidence greater than that is kept from leaving the LED package and is recycled back within the LED package.
