Abstract: The invention relates to an X-ray device which includes an X-ray source and an X-ray detector which are mounted at a respective end of a common holding device. The holding device being attached to the room by way of a supporting device. In order to realize a more flexible construction of such X-ray devices that are widely used and are usually provided with a holding device in the form of a C-arm and nevertheless maintain a high positioning accuracy. The invention further relates to a supporting device constructed with a plurality of hinged, serially interconnected supporting members. The supporting device is formed notably by a serial manipulator, for example, a conventional robot arm.

Abstract: A method of and arrangement for providing access to a consumer device (101). A user can switch between multiple content providers. To switch, he calls up a set of representations (202-207) of offerings by content providers (107, 108, 109). He can then select a content provider. The selection is submitted to a gateway system (106), which then provides the selected content provider access to the consumer device (101), preferably in return for a fee paid by the selected content provider. The invention makes it easier for users to switch content providers even when descrambling boxes, subscriptions and other hassles are normally involved in switching. All these hassles are taken care of by the gateway (106).
Abstract: An audio signal processing device is described for deriving auxiliary audio signals, such as audio direction sensing signals or a center audio signal from first and second audio signals through first and second filter paths, each of which comprises a first adaptive filter, and a first summing means is provided for coupled to the first adaptive filters for providing a summed audio signal at its summing output. Each filter path further comprises a second adaptive filter coupled to said summing output, whose respective adaptive filter coefficients are transferred to the first adaptive filters and are adapted in response to respective comparisons of the first and second audio signals with filtered sums of the first and second audio signals. Therewith correlated and uncorrelated parts of the input audio signals are processed effectively.

Abstract: A method of color mixing with arc stability and arc straightening of HID lamps operated at high frequencies which modulates a duty cycle of a half bridge configured resonant inverter at a frequency which is substantially one-half the frequency of a second longitudinal acoustic mode of the HID lamp. The method also sweeps the switching frequency in a high frequency range of such resonant inverter. The duty cycle modulation effectuates power modulation to create a fixed frequency power component which is substantially equal to the frequency of the second longitudinal acoustic mode. The sweeping switching frequency of the half bridge configured resonant inverter drives the HID lamp in a manner which effectuates arc stability and arc straightening.
Abstract: A tungsten silicide etch process allows for a high etch rate and about 90° sidewall profiles of etched features. According to an example embodiment, a substrate is placed into an etch zone and a process gas comprising SF6, He, HBr, and a chlorine-containing gas is introduced in the etch zone. A plasma is generated in the etch zone to form an etch gas from the process gas that anisotropically etches the tungsten silicide layer.
Abstract: In a method of providing a surface with a protection layer having at least a first surface area (2) and a second surface area (1), which surface areas (1, 2) are distinguishable in that the surface areas (1, 2) differ from each other in at least one visual property, parts of the surface situated outside the first surface area (2) are masked with a mask layer which partially covers the surface, and the surface is subjected to an electrochemical treatment (14, 20), whereby non-masked parts of the surface are treated. As the mask layer provided on the surface is a sol-gel layer forming the protection layer in the second surface area (1), a wear-resistant surface-protection layer having visually distinguishable surface areas is provided in an efficient manner. An object which can be obtained by means of the proposed method is also described.

Abstract: An antenna system (1) transmits return signals, for example, in the band Ka, based on signals received from a distribution network in the band from 2.5-3 GHz. Abstract: A communication system includes first and second beacon devices capable of wireless message transmission and at least one portable client device capable of receiving such message transmissions. The client device is arranged to broadcast an inquiry message according to a first communication protocol, such as Bluetooth. The first beacon detects such inquiry messages and replies with an inquiry response containing an identifier for the second beacon, enabling the second beacon and client device to perform a service interaction. In an alternative embodiment receipt of the inquiry message is notified to the second beacon which then sends the inquiry response to the client device.
Abstract: A circuit arrangement for a resistor of high linearity that can be produced in integrated technology and be controlled by the current (Io1, Io2), which circuit arrangement is constructed from two pairs of transistors comprising transistors (T1 . . . T4) of the same junction type connected as diodes.
