Patent number: 10493223Abstract: Systems and method for determining zero subject flow rate for correcting leak estimation in respiratory devices. Estimating leak in respiratory devices is necessary for proper ventilation of the subject. Correctly estimating leak allows synchronous triggering and enables accurate measurements of respiratory parameters such as tidal volumes and peak flows to be performed. The systems (10) and the method (100) herein provide a solution to correct (116) for errors in leak estimation methods through analysis (108, 110, 112) of flow rate of the pressurized flow of breathable gas generated (104) by a pressure generator (12) of a respiratory device, and identification or estimation (114) of the flow rate of the pressurized flow at which zero subject flow rate occurs, wherein adjustments to the employed leak estimation method can be thereafter made.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 2014Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventor: Christopher Anthony Procyk

Patent number: 10496160Abstract: In a gaze-tracking system, localized error correction may be applied. The display area may be partitioned into error-correction zones, and each zone may have its own error correcting parameters or function. Calibration points may be defined for each of these zones, and the correction parameters or function within each zone may be dependent upon the observed errors as the user views each calibration point associated with the zone. In like manner, the function applied to smooth the determined gaze point to reduce noise may also be localized by basing its characteristics on the noise exhibited at each calibration point associated with defined noise-calibration zones. The error correcting function and/or the noise smoothing function may be selected based on the requirements of the particular application that receives the corrected and smoothed gaze location.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2015Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Kongkuo Lu, Yuechen Qian

Patent number: 10492701Abstract: A flexible conductive track arrangement has a pre-flexing condition in which the arrangement is generally planar. Conductive tracks are formed from a metal layer and they are covered above and below by insulator layers. The elongate conductive tracks are generally planar but locally corrugated perpendicularly to the general plane. This enables improved binding performance, for example to form tight windings using the conductive tracks.Type: GrantFiled: September 29, 2014Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: Koninklijke Philips N.V.Inventors: Franciscus Theodorus Agricola, Alfons Wouter Groenland

Patent number: 10497127Abstract: A system and method are provided for segmentation of an anatomical structure in which a user may interactively specify a limited set of boundary points of the anatomical structure in a view of a medical image. The set of boundary points may, on its own, be considered an insufficient segmentation of the anatomical structure in the medical image, but is rather used to select a segmentation model from a plurality of different segmentation models. The selection is based on a goodness-of-fit measure between the boundary points and each of the segmentation models. For example, a best-fitting model may be selected and used for segmentation of the anatomical structure. It is therefore not needed for the user to delineate the entire anatomical structure, which would be time consuming and ultimately error prone, nor is it needed for a segmentation algorithm to autonomously have to select a segmentation model, which may yield an erroneous selection.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2016Date of Patent: December 3, 2019Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Matthew John Lawrenson, Julian Charles Nolan, Juergen Weese

Publication number: 20190362137Abstract: Disclosed techniques relate to identifying subjects in digital images. In some embodiments, intake digital images (404) are acquired (1002) that capture a first subject. A subset of the intake digital images is selected (1004) that depict multiple different views of the first subject's face. Based on the selected subset of intake digital images, first subject reference templates are generated and stored in a subject database (412). Later, a second subject is selected (1008) for identification within an area. Associated second subject reference templates are retrieved (1010) from the subject reference database. Digital image(s) (420) that depict the area are acquired (1012). Portion(s) of the digital image(s) that depict faces of subject(s) in the area are detected (1014) as detected face image(s). A given detected face image is compared (1016) to the second subject reference templates to identify the second subject (1018) in the digital image(s) that capture the area.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 22, 2017Publication date: November 28, 2019Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Haibo WANG, Cornelis Conradus Adrianus Maria VAN ZON, William Palmer LORD

Publication number: 20190362852Abstract: In modern health systems, and particularly in those in developing countries, primary care-givers located remotely from diagnosticians are increasingly turning to the possibilities afforded by social media and improved communication techniques. In particular, medical information may be obtained from a patient of the primary care-giver, and transmitted (for example, by email) to a diagnostician. However, the primary care giver has no way to know that the diagnostician has diagnostic information display equipment which could enable a secure diagnosis, for example. The present application discusses diagnosis authentication techniques. The primary care-giver's operator terminal (20) may challenge the diagnostic terminal (10) to certify and transmit receive various attributes useful for assuring a reasonable diagnosis.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2017Publication date: November 28, 2019Applicant: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: JENS VON BERG, RAVINDRA BHAT, ANAND KUMAR DOKANIA
