Abstract: A nuclear imaging system includes a crystal identification system which receives a flood image which includes a plurality of peaks, each peak responsive to radiation detected by a corresponding scintillator crystal. A crystal identification processor partitions the flood image into a plurality of candidate regions with a watershed segmentator implementing a watershed algorithm. The candidate regions are linked in an adjacency graph, and then classified as background or relevant, where relevant regions contain a peak within the watershed lines. The regions are then assigned to a crystal according to an objective function and an assignability score. A calibration processor maps the peaks to a rectangular grid.

  • Publication number: 20130315327
Abstract: A MIMO ARC transmitter derives demux streams (15, 20) carrying different parts of the information, at given data rates, processes each demux stream by coding and modulation (25, 30) before transmission over the channels, and varies (50, 165) the coding or modulation according to channel conditions, and controls the data rates (50, 155) according to conditions of the channels independently of the variations in coding and modulation. The separate control of processing and of data rates for each demux stream can provide a better balance of rapid response to changing conditions and efficiency in less rapidly changing conditions. The frequency of updating the processing can be limited since these take more time to adapt in the receiver. Sensitivity to rapid changes can be achieved by the data rate changes since these involve less overhead than changes in the processing.

  • Patent number: 8594510
Abstract: Proposed is a light module (110) comprising at least two primary light sources (111,112,113) capable of emitting a primary color light. This allows the light module to emit light having intensity (Y) and color coordinates (x,y) through additive color mixing of the constituent primary colors. The light module further comprises an modulator (115) capable of modulating the primary light sources enabling embedment of data in the light emitted. The modulator (115) is arranged to modulate the color coordinates of the light emitted for embedding the data. This is especially advantageous as the sensitivity of the human eye to changes in color is lower than to changes in intensity. The invention thus advantageously allows embedding the data into the light emitted from the light modules (110) of an illumination system (100) without reducing the performance of its primary function as an aid to human vision.
