Patent number: 11918300Abstract: An ultrasound imaging system for needle insertion guidance uses a curved array transducer to scan an image field with unsteered beams as a needle is inserted into the image field. Due to differences in the angle of incidence between the radially directed beams and the needle, echoes will return most strongly from only a section of the needle. This section is identified in an image, and the angle of incidence producing the strongest returns is identified. Beams with this optimal angle of incidence are then steered in parallel from the curved array transducer to produce the best needle image. The steep steering angles of some of the steered beams can give rise to side lobe clutter artifacts, which can be identified and removed from the image data using dual apodization processing of the image data.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2019Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Shannon Renee Fox, Changhong Hu, Kyong Chang, James Robertson Jago, Thanasis Loupas

Patent number: 11918384Abstract: In various embodiments, a first classification assigned to a periodic component of an electrical waveform that represents electrical activity in a patient's heart may be identified. A corresponding periodic component of a hemodynamic waveform that represents hemodynamic activity in the patient's cardiovascular system may be analyzed. The corresponding periodic component may be causally related to the periodic component of the electrical waveform. Based on the analysis, the previously-assigned classification may be assigned to the corresponding periodic component of the hemodynamic waveform in response to a determination, based on the analyzing, that the previously-assigned classification also applies to the corresponding periodic component. In a database of hemodynamic templates, a hemodynamic template associated with the previously-assigned classification may be updated to include one or more features of the corresponding periodic component of the hemodynamic waveform.Type: GrantFiled: August 20, 2021Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventors: Erina Ghosh, Cristhian Potes, Richard Earl Gregg

Patent number: 11922604Abstract: PET/MR images are compensated with simplified adaptive algorithms for truncated parts of the body. The compensation adapts to a specific location of truncation of the body or organ in the MR image, and to attributes of the truncation in the truncated body part. Anatomical structures in a PET image that do not require any compensation are masked using a MR image with a smaller field of view. The organs that are not masked are then classified as types of anatomical structures, the orientation of the anatomical structures, and type of truncation. Structure specific algorithms are used to compensate for a truncated anatomical structure. The compensation is validated for correctness and the ROI is filled in where there is missing voxel data. Attenuation maps are generated from the compensated ROI.Type: GrantFiled: October 20, 2015Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventor: Shekhar Dwivedi

Patent number: 11922796Abstract: Embodiments propose methods and system for predicting the occurrence of critical alarms in response to the occurrence of less severe, non-critical alarms. It is proposed to use a machine-learning model trained to discern whether a non-critical alarm will be followed by a critical alarm within a particular time period, e.g. whether the non-critical alarm will develop into a critical alarm. Unlike existing alarm systems which are merely threshold based, this approach uses physiological data from a window of data. This window of data can be expected to carry more information than a simple breach of the threshold.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2019Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: KONINKLIJKE PHILIPS N.V.Inventor: Rohan Joshi
