  • Patent number: 9069088
Abstract: In radiation-sensitive detector devices, such as direct conversion detectors, charges are drifting within an externally applied electric field towards collecting electrodes (4), which are segmented (e.g. representing a pixel array). At the gaps between segments, electrical field lines can leave the detector, and charges drifting along those field lines can be trapped within the gap. This can be avoided by external electrodes (8) which push electric field lines back into the direct conversion material.

  • Patent number: 9070358
Abstract: An encoder for a multi-channel audio signal which comprises a down-mixer (201, 203, 205) for generating a down-mix as a combination of at least a first and second channel signal weighted by respectively a first and second weight with different amplitudes for at least some time-frequency intervals. Furthermore, a circuit (201, 203, 209) generates up-mix parametric data characterizing a relationship between the channel signals as well as characterizing the weights. A circuit generates weight estimates for the encoder weights from the up-mix parametric data; and comprises an up-mixer (407) which recreates the multi channel audio signal by up-mixing the down-mix in response to the up-mix parametric data, the first weight estimate and the second weight estimate. The up-mixing is dependent on the amplitude of at least one of the weight estimate(s).

  • Patent number: 9070902
Abstract: A patterned light emitting diode device includes a layer of light emitting material between an anode and a cathode. Further, a light-reflective layer is visible through a light-emission window of the patterned light emitting diode device. The light-reflective layer includes a pattern formed by local deformations of the light-reflective layer. The pattern may be generated via impinging condensed light beam which may enter via a rear-wall of the light-reflective layer, or via impinging the condensed light beam through the light-emission window on the light-reflective layer. The deformations may be generated without significantly altering the conductivity of the light-reflective layer. An effect of this patterned light emitting diode device is that the pattern remains clearly visible both during an on-state and during an off-state of the light emitting diode device.

  • Patent number: 9067055
Abstract: A defibrillator electrode set for a defibrillator and a defibrillator which senses the capacitance of an attached electrode set includes an electrode set coupled to the defibrillator by an adapter cable. The adapter cable and electrode set are pre-connected to the defibrillator prior to use. The electrodes are stored in a sealed foil package to retard gel desiccation prior to use. To reduce the capacitance of the electrode set seen by the defibrillator, the capacitance between the stored electrodes and the foil package is reduced by using a thicker dielectric layer for the layer of an electrode which opposes a wall of the foil package. In a constructed embodiment, one sixteenth inch thick polyethylene foam may be used for the electrode layer opposing the wall of the foil package.
