Abstract: There is disclosed a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material which has at least one silver halide emulsion layer on a support, the silver halide emulsion layer includes substantially monodispersed core/shell type silver halide grains, and the silver halide grains are those which have been sensitized with a combination of at least one of sensitizing dyes represented by the following formulae (I) and (II): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 to R.sub.8, Y.sub.1 to Y.sub.8, X.sub.1.sup..crclbar., X.sub.2.sup..crclbar., m and n have the same meanings as defined in the specification.
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a photographic reflecting support wherein chips and/or resin scraps of a thermoplastic resin are heat-treated in a vacuum and fed into an extruder to be melted and then extruded in the form of a sheet out of the die of the extruder. The resulting sheet is then cooled and solidified on a cooled casting drum and stretched 6 to 16 times in terms of area, lengthwise and then widthwise or vice versa, or biaxially at the same time, at a temperature within the range of from a temperature not lower than the glass transition point of the thermoplastic resin to a temperature not higher than 150.degree. C. The stretched sheet is then thermoset at a temperature within the range of from a temperature not lower than 170.degree. C. to a temperature of the melting point of the thermoplastic resin and the resulting photographic reflecting support is made from 40 .mu.m to 300 .mu.m in thickness and not higher than 20% in visible-wave-length range transmittance.
Abstract: A film winding member for a camera includes a lower disposed portion of widened diameter for initial contact with the leading end of the film. Both the widened diameter portion and the relatively narrower remainder of the film winding member present uninterruptedly smooth and continuous surfaces about which the film is operatively wound. The peripheral surface of the film winding member is formed of a material having a coefficient of sliding friction or at least 1.5, and preferably of silicone rubber having such a coefficient of sliding friction.
Abstract: A method for collating a plurality of copies comprising advancing a group of bins in one direction for collating a selected number of copies, returning the bins in an opposite direction for collating the same number of copies after the advancing movement, repeating the advancing and returning movements alternately, detecting a change of the selected number of copies during the collating operation, and starting the collating operation from a specific standard bin in response to that detection.
Abstract: A magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer and optionally a backing layer, wherein at least one of said magnetic layer and said backing layer contains a fungicide selected from the group consisting of 2-(4-thiazolyl) benzimidazole, N-(fluorodichloromethylthio)-phthalimide, N,N-dimethyl-N'-phenyl-N'-fluorodichloromethylthio-sulfamide.
Abstract: A multi-color imaging method wherein a photo-receptor having a photoconductive layer on a conductive member and having on the photoconductive layer an insulating layer comprising a different-color fine-filter distributed layer. The surface of the photo-receptor is image exposed while being changed, then given a flood exposure of specific light to the surface to form a potential pattern on the portion of specific filters and a step to develop the potential pattern is repeated at least twice depending on the type of filter, and a changing process that uniformalizes the potential on the surface is given before the second flood exposure and therewith every time.
Abstract: This invention relates to a silver halide photographic light-sensitive material in which at least one of the silver halide emulsion layers thereof contains an 1H-pyrazolo[3,2-C]-s-triazole magenta coupler substituted in the third position by a group represented by the following Formula [I];--R.sub.1 --SO.sub.2 --R.sub.2 Formula [I]wherein R.sub.1 represents an alkylene group having not less than 3 carbon atoms in the straight-chained portion thereof, which is capable of linking a --SO.sub.2 --R.sub.2 to the carbon atom in the third position of the nucleus of the 1H-pyrazolo[3,2-C]-s-triazole; and R.sub.2 represents an aryl group.The silver halide photographic light-sensitive materials of the invention are excellent in light-resistance of magenta dye images and also spectral absorption characteristics.

Abstract: A control apparatus for feeding recording paper to an electrophotographic copying machine from one or the other of a pair of cassettes permits not only selection of a desired cassette with the desired size paper, but if one cassette is replaced with a new one, perhaps containing a different size paper, the electrophotographic copying machine will automatically be fed from the replacement cassette irrespective of the position of the cassette selecting equipment.

Abstract: A method for synthesizing a magenta coupler. The synthesis is carried out through (1) 3-pyrazoline-5-ones which are obtained by substituting a blocking group at the nitrogen atom in the second position thereof; or (2) pyrazoles which are obtained by substituting a blocking group at the hydroxyl group bonded in the fifth position thereof. The magenta coupler obtained has the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is an aryl or heterocyclic group, R.sub.2 is an acylamide, anilino or ureido group, and R3 is an alkyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group.
Abstract: A cartridge-type parts exchange assembly for an image recording device includes a cartridge housing made up of a pair of hingedly connected hollow vessels. One of the vessels removably contains a developing device for the image recording apparatus, and the other of the vessels removably contains a toner supply container for the image recording apparatus. The hingedly connected vessels are normally in a closed position. When the developing device and toner supply container are to be installed in an image recording apparatus, the vessels are pivotally opened by rotation about the hinge so that open ends of the vessels are exposed for sliding out of the respective developing device and toner supply container.
Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material is disclosed, which is excellent in light discoloration resistance and is more particularly capable of keeping its color balance and reproducing long life color images. The photographic material comprises a support, at least three light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layers containing a yellow, magenta, and cyan coupler, respectively, and at least one non-light-sensitive layer being provided at a further side of the emulsion layer being provided at the furthest position from the support. The non-light-sensitive layer contains at least three kinds of UV absorbers represented by the general formula [UV-I], provided that at least one of the UV absorbers is in a liquid state at 30.degree. C. and at least two UV absorbers are in a solid state at the same temperature.
Abstract: There is provided a method of ion beam generation wherein a plurality of opposing targets are sputtered by plasma generated in a space confined by these targets and ionized particles thereby generated are led outside of the above space in a given direction under presence of an electric field.In connection to this method, an ion beam generator is disclosed comprising a plurality of targets, a plasma generating means to generate plasma necessary to sputter these targets in a space confined by these targets and a control electrode to lead ionized particles generated by sputtering with the above plasma outside of such space under control of their energy.
Abstract: A photosensitive silver halide colored photographic material having (1) ballasted couplers combined with photosensitive silver halide emulsions and (2) colored compounds capable of reacting with oxidized developing agent, wherein the colored compounds are capable of diffusing in the photographic material during developing treatments and have their principal absorption in the main absorption wavelength region of the dye produced by the reaction of the coupler with the developing agent.
Abstract: This invention relates to a wide angle lens for a compact camera using a lens shutter, in which wide angle lens, a distance from a front surface of the lens to a film surface is short. The lens is a lens of the inverted retrofocus type in which a negative meniscus lens greatly curved toward an image is arranged at the rear of a triplet lens of convex, concave and convex. The second, third and fourth lenses each comprise a plastic lens. Various aberrations are compensated and variation in focal length due to a variation in temperature is also prevented. By the formation of plastic lenses, it is possible to easily form the fourth lens into an aspherical lens.
Abstract: A silver halide photographic light-sensitive material having high sensitivity and high covering power, particularly suitable for use in radiography comprising on a support, a silver halide emulsion layer having silver halide grains which have a grain-size distribution curve comprising at least two peaks of which in the mode form, the highest peak mode and another peak mode adjacent thereto stand leaving a space of 0.10.mu. to 0.30.mu. therebetween. An orthochromatic dye-sensitizer increases the sensitivity.
Abstract: A method of processing a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material comprising color developing an imagewise exposed light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material comprising a blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, a green-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer and a red-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a base, said blue-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer containing a high speed reactive yellow coupler having a relative coupling reaction rate of not less than 0.3, followed by processing with a processing solution having a fixing ability and then processing with a stabilizing solution without a substantial washing step, said stabilizing solution containing a sulfite in an amount of at least 1.times.10.sup.-3 mole per 1 liter of said stabilizing solution. The processed photographic material has superior stability of the dye image.
Abstract: In a light-sensitive silver halide photographic material having blue-sensitive, green-sensitive and red-sensitive photosensitive layers on a support and being capable of forming a multi-color image, the improvement wherein at least one of said photosensitive layers comprises a high sensitivity layer and a low sensitivity layer; at least one of said high sensitivity layers contains flat plate silver halide grains with an average aspect ratio of 5:1 or higher; and at least one of said low sensitivity layer contains an emulsion comprising silver halide grains which are substantially mono-dispersed.
