Abstract: An apparatus and method for performing sequential scheduling in a multiple-input, multiple-output (MIMO) system is provided. The method includes the steps of: selecting a user which reports the greatest partial feedback information among a plurality of pieces of partial feedback information of all users in an initialization operation, and requesting channel feedback information to the selected user; and broadcasting the channel feedback information of the selected user to remaining unselected users upon receiving the channel feedback information from the selected user. Accordingly, a maximum capacity can be obtained by using only selective channel feedback information without having to feed back channel state information of all users.

Abstract: Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting/receiving signals in a communication system. A base station allocates a quasi-dedicated control channel (QDCCH) to a first mobile station (MS), and allocates the QDCCH allocated to the first MS, to a second MS for a preset time. An MS receives a QDCCH allocated from the base station. If there is data to transmit to the base station, the MS determines whether the QDCCH is allocated to another MS different from the MS. If it is determined that the QDCCH is allocated to the MS itself, the MS transmits the data to the base station over the QDCCH.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a micro-composite pattern lens and to a method for manufacturing same. The micro-composite pattern lens of the present invention has a micro-composite pattern with one or more protrusions formed on one side of the lens having a predetermined curvature, and optical polymer nanoparticles arranged in the lens. The micro-composite pattern of the lens may form a wider angle of light emission, thus enabling an LED source, which is a point light source, to be converted into a surface light source having superior luminous intensity uniformity. The lens of the present invention is advantageous in that a single lens may serve as a light guide plate, a prism plate, and a diffusion plate, this eliminating the necessity of stacking optical plates, which might otherwise be required for conventional backlight units.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a gene construct which is capable of achieving efficient production of an antimicrobial peptide in a microorganism, and a method for efficient mass production and separation of an antimicrobial peptide using the same. The gene construct of the present invention has a translationally coupled configuration of two independent and separate cistrons which encode an acidic peptide and a basic antimicrobial peptide, each having an opposite charge, under the control of a single promoter. The translationally coupled acidic peptide and basic antimicrobial peptide undergo charge-charge interaction simultaneously with expression thereof to neutralize the potential cytotoxicity of the antimicrobial peptide, resulting in prevention of antimicrobial peptide-mediated killing of host microorganisms. In addition, a conjugate of the acidic peptide and the antimicrobial peptide can be separated without chemical or enzymatic treatment.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of forming a graphene layer, and, more particularly, to a method of forming a graphene layer which is a two-dimensional thin film composed of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb-style lattice and having one atom thick and which is put to practical use in the field of electric devices, transparent electrodes or microwave circuits. The method includes the steps of: (a) forming a metal thin film on a substrate; (b) injecting carbon ions into the metal thin film; and (c) heat-treating the carbon ions injected into the metal thin film to form a graphene layer on the metal thin film. The method is advantageous in that a graphene layer is formed by uniformly injecting an accurate amount of carbon ions into a metal thin film depending on the maximum solubility of carbon in the metal thin film and then heat-treating the injected carbon ions, thus uniformly forming the graphene layer on the metal thin film.
