  • Patent number: 6302038
Abstract: A fire grate assembly for stoker incinerators. A plurality of stationary and movable grate members are alternately arranged in the assembly. The assembly also has a preventing member, such as a liner plate, which is detachably mounted to an end of each of the movable grate members for preventing the stationary grate members and the movable grate members from directly contacting each other, while allowing the movable grate members to be linearly movable relative to the stationary grate members. The preventing member is replaceable and can have a countersunk hole, thus being adapted for bolting the end of each of the movable grate members.

  • Patent number: 5794705
Abstract: A fire extinguishing apparatus can quickly extinguish a fire in the early stages by ejecting a pressurized liquid in the form of a fine spray, and can effectively extinguish a fire even when an extensive fire occurs. The apparatus has a frame, a cap member assembled into the upper portion of the frame, and a spraying nozzle assembly coupled to the underside of the frame. The spraying nozzle assembly has a plurality of nozzle sections. The nozzle section includes a hollow nozzle body, a swirler accommodated in the hollow nozzle body in order to apply centrifugal force to the highly pressurized liquid passing therethrough, a swirler holder which is inserted in the upper portion of hollow nozzle body and contacts with the upper surface of the swirler so as to prevent the swirler from moving, and a nozzle tip having an orifice for spraying the pressurized liquid to the fire. The nozzle tip is inserted in the lower portion of the hollow nozzle body.

  • Patent number: 5687631
Abstract: A two-stage speed change mechanism for a swash plate hydraulic motor, in which a swash plate is moved even during the revolution of the swash type hydraulic motor, thereby making it possible to vary the exclusion volume. An accommodating bore for accommodating a fixing pin is formed on a side wall of a housing. Piston for shifting the swash plate is provided, and control valves 14,15 and 16 each including a pilot line 14, a spool 15 and a compression spring 16 are installed for the actuation of the swash plate shifting piston 3. Thus the exclusion volume can be safely varied even during the rotating of the hydraulic motor.

  • Patent number: 5618456
Abstract: A method for improving the tip and nozzle of a gas welder in which a conventional or new surface oxidation chemical treatment was applied to improve the surface properties of the tip and nozzle of a gas welder made of copper or copper alloys. Continuous welding operation could then be possible for extended periods of time. If a black copper oxide layer is formed by chemical conversion coating treatment on the surface of the nozzle which is made of copper or copper alloys, then the splatters do not easily stick to the surface. Further, even if the splatters stick, they are more easily removed. In the case of the tip, a black copper oxide layer formed by chemical conversion coating treatment in the small hole of the tip makes the supply of the filler metal wire flow smoothly without troubles. Further, the black copper oxide layer formed by chemical conversion coating treatment also inhibits the sticking of splatters, so that the supply of the filler metal wire is smooth.

  • Patent number: 4831881
Abstract: The autoclave cure process is the representative composite fabrication technique for high quality composite materials for the aerospace and defense industry application. After lay up and vacuum-bagging in a complicated sequence, the several composite material needed in autoclave curing are cured under controlled temperature and pressure. The autoclave curing, in which the total cure process requires at least 4-6 hours, is a very expensive process. Therefore, the determination of an optimal cure process for composite prepregs is very important for guaranteed quality as well as being important economically. Theoretical models cannot be proved because of the lack of experimental methods. The experimenter must run many batches of autoclave curing trial and error at the different curing temperatures and pressures to obtain a sufficient amount of data which can experimentally determine the optimal cure process.
