Patents Assigned to Korea Powertrain Co., Ltd
  • Patent number: 9810301
Abstract: Disclosed is a torque converter in a vehicle, in which a torsional damper reduces a natural frequency and absorbs vibration energy in an anti-resonance state for enhancing a vibration isolation function. The torque converter in a vehicle includes a torsional damper including a retaining plate coupled to the piston, a plurality of springs arranged at the retaining plate for imparting elastic force in a circumferential direction, a driven plate coupled to a spline hub which acts as a reaction force on the springs and forwards driving power to a transmission, and an inertial lever arranged between the piston and the driven plate, the inertial lever including a fixed pivot coupling portion coupled to the piston with a fixed pivot and a movable pivot coupling portion coupled to the driven plate with a movable pivot.

  • Patent number: 9453565
Abstract: Disclosed is a torque converter in a vehicle, which permits putting a lock-up clutch into operation while sufficiently attenuating vibration at all rotation speed ranges of a low rotation speed range to a high rotation speed range of an engine. The torque converter in a vehicle includes a lock-up clutch and a torsional damper, wherein the torsional damper has one side with a first centrifugal absorbing unit provided thereto for absorbing vibration and impact by centrifugal force, and a spline hub has one side with a second centrifugal absorbing unit for absorbing vibration and impact by centrifugal force.

  • Patent number: 7273140
Abstract: A torque converter for a vehicle includes a front cover integrally formed with a boss to which a crank shaft of an engine side is connected, an impeller connected to the front cover to rotate together with the front cover, a turbine disposed facing the impeller, a stator disposed between the impeller and the turbine to convert flow of oil directed from the turbine, a lockup clutch mechanism for directly connecting the engine to the turbine. A blade of the impeller and/or the turbine is provided with inner and outer projections coupled to shell and core of the impeller and/or the turbine. Each of the inner and outer and inner projections includes a base located on a slit formed on the shell/core and an extending section extending from the base, the extending section being bent after penetrating the slit.

  • Patent number: 6993903
Abstract: The present invention is related to a blade of a stator, where a passage is formed in the blade of a conventional stator which constitutes a torque converter and thereby generates stable torque and prevents sag in the stall state and at low speed ratios. The present invention is characterized in that an oil flow passage is newly formed between the pressure side and the suction side of the blade of the stator. The present invention avoids the occurrence of flow separation and recirculation regions at low speed ratios through modification of the structure of the blade of the stator and thereby prevents performance deterioration and may improve the overall performance of the torque converter.
