Patents Assigned to Korea Technology Industry Co., Ltd.
  • Patent number: 8277642
Abstract: Disclosed is a system for processing oil sands to remove bitumen, the viscous petroleum product adhered to the sands, from the sands itself. The processing system is designed to be substantially air tight, preventing outside air from entering and volatile chemicals from escaping from the system. Mined oil sands are delivered to the system, which creates a slurry of oil sands and solvent in a slurry chamber. The slurry is transported to a dissolution chamber which conditions the slurry before the slurry is sent to an extraction chamber. A plurality of trays and scrapers further conditions the slurry to remove bitumen. The use of heavy, aromatic solvents and light, paraffinic solvents in sequence improves bitumen recovery while allowing environmentally safe processing of the sands to occur in a later step. The sands are dried and the solvent recovered for recycling and reuse in the system. Clean, dry sands are returned to the source of mined oil sands for reclamation.

  • Publication number: 20100159616
Abstract: A bio-chip has a base plate, and a fluid resin layer positioned on the base plate and having a plurality of convexo-concave structures that are uniformly arranged in line. Side walls of the structures form reflecting films to form a Fabry-Perot interferometer structure. The bio-chip is used to detect an analyte provided to the bio-chip, so that it is possible to rapidly analyze the small amount of samples and to realize the detection sensitivity relatively higher than the conventional method.

  • Publication number: 20100029492
Abstract: Disclosed are a nucleic acid chip for obtaining binding profiles between unknown biomolecules and single-stranded nucleic acids, a method for manufacturing the chip, and a method for analyzing the unknown biomolecules using the chip. The nucleic acid chip is used to analyze biological significance of the unknown biomolecule in the biospecimen. The nucleic acid chip can be manufactured by reacting a biospecimen containing an unknown biomolecule with random single-stranded nucleic acids having random base sequences to determine biomolecule-binding single stranded nucleic acids capable of binding the unknown biomolecule; and synthesizing capture single stranded nucleic acids composed of the determined biomolecule-binding single stranded nucleic acids and/or single stranded nucleic acids having base sequences complementary to those of said determined biomolecule-binding single stranded nucleic acids and affixing the capture single stranded nucleic acids on a substrate.

  • Patent number: 6992883
Abstract: A display apparatus for vehicles is provided. The display apparatus for vehicles comprises a disc player comprising a display mounting unit, wherein a connection plate of a display unit is coupled to the bottom surface of the display mounting unit in a stacked form, or separated from the bottom surface; the display unit which comprises the connection plate having second fixing parts enabling the display unit to be coupled with the display mounting unit in a stacked form facing each other, and a screen unit which is installed on the connection plate through a hinge so as to rotate about the hinge, is capable of being folded and unfolded; and fixing components which allow the disc player and/or the display unit to be fixed to the ceiling of the vehicle. The display apparatus allows a purchaser to select a disc player as an option item and easily replace only a defective part. Particularly, the display apparatus has an advantage of easy installation and separation.
