  • Patent number: 7054317
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for controlling a transmission control protocol window size in an asynchronous transfer mode which determines a TCP congestion window size by using an explicit rate value in a resource management cell. According to the present invention, cells transmitted pursuant to the explicit rate value are rarely dropped or tagged by a switch algorithm, thereby reducing a ratio of transmission.

  • Patent number: 6947397
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for adaptive data transmission enabling data transmission in a variable transmission rate in a communication system, where a number of users share a transmission medium to transmit data in the variable transmission rate, by using a transmission capacity which is not being currently used even if allocated to some users. According to the invention, the transmission rate variation rates of each of the variable transmission rate data transmission services are controlled within the spirit of current variable transmission rate services so that the data traffic of the existing variable transmission rate transmission services which is actually unable to be forecasted can be forecasted. Therefore, the idle transmission capacity available can be forecasted so that the data can be transmitted by using the idle capacity. In this way, the transmission capacity of the system can be more efficiently used.

  • Patent number: 6868416
Abstract: An internet address system formed by introducing a E.164 number system of the ITU-T or a zip code system to IPv6 address system, and a hierarchical routing method using the same. Thus, a user can easily find an IPv6 address of a user terminal from his/her telephone number. The telephone numbers can be well linked to the IPv6 addresses, so that an internet provider can easily design and assign the IPv6 addresses. In addition, a hierarchical routing process is carried out by using the E.164 number system, thereby reducing routing time and improving a routing speed. The subscriber address can also be found out by the internet address of the subscriber. The IPv6 addresses and zip codes are well linked by applying the zip codes of the respective countries to the IPv6 address system, thereby efficiently using the information for network management and administration.

  • Patent number: 6813272
Abstract: A routing method with routing algorithms applicable to a one-level hierarchical network, including a first algorithm in which a shortest one among all paths established in association with one destination is selected, a second algorithm in which the first method is conducted in a distributed fashion to achieve a fast routing, and a third algorithm in which any one of paths established in association with one destination may be selected as a shortest path when the QoS value calculated in association therewith is more optimum than a required reference QoS value, for preventing problems caused by errors at the single path. The method also provides algorithms that are modified versions of the second and third algorithm for the multi-level hierarchical network. Accordingly, the method is advantageous in that users can select an algorithm, most suitable for the system environment, from the above algorithms.

  • Patent number: 6810250
Abstract: The invention provides a method of roaming services for global roaming subscribers in the third generation mobile telecommunication networks in which a visitor network GLR(Gateway Location Register) is connected to a home network GLR so that the home network GLR can download subscriber information from HLR(Home network Location Register) to the visitor network GLR. In this manner, the visitor network GLR is blocked from direct contact to the home network HLR in the roaming service about the terminal moved to other network and downloaded with the subscriber information stored in the home network HLR in which the terminal is registered via the GLR so that the subscriber information stored in the home network HLR can be prevented from being exposed by the visitor network GLR. The visitor network GLR is associated with the home network GLR only in contrast to conventional association with all HLR of the home network so that a signal track can be remarkably reduced.

  • Patent number: 6190984
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a super self-aligned heterojunction bipolar transistor which is capable of miniaturizing an element, simplifying the process step thereof by employing a selective collector epitaxial growth process without using a trench for isolating between elements. According to the invention, isolation between elements is derived by using a mask defining an emitter region and a second spacer. The base layer has multi-layer structure being made of a Si, an undoped SiGe, a SiGe doped a p-type impurity in-situ and Si. Also, the selective epitaxial growth for a base is not required. Thus, it can be less prone to a flow of leakage current or an emitter-base-collector short effect.
