Abstract: A mechanical pencil, includes an external cylinder, a lead delivery mechanism disposed in the external cylinder, the lead delivery mechanism having a lead-fastening chuck which fastens a lead and moves back and forth in the external cylinder to deliver the lead toward a front end of the external cylinder, a lead holder disposed before the lead delivery mechanism in the external cylinder to gently hold a lead, and a guide member arranged between the lead-fastening chuck and the lead holder in the external cylinder and always urged backwardly toward the lead-fastening chuck to protect a lead portion between the lead-fastening chuck and a lead holding portion of the lead holder.

Abstract: It is a clip attaching structure wherein the cost can be reduced, and the appearance is excellent, and furthermore, the spring action is good. The clip is made of a thin plate metal material, and has a base part to be inserted into an outer sleeve and a main body part to be extended outside the outer sleeve, and the main body part has an approximately U-shaped cross section made by bending downward both sides of the thin plate, and between the base part and the main body part, a closing part for closing the rear end opening of the inner sleeve is provided. The main body part side of the closing part has an approximately U-shaped cross section made by downward bending both sides thereof and the approximately U-shaped cross section from the main body part is continued, and the base part side of the closing part is shaped like a plate, and the downward bent portion of both sides of the closing part is inserted into the inner sleeve when the clip is not swung.

Abstract: A clip mounting structure for providing a large amount of rocking of a clip without requiring any spring or the like, includes a clip which has a base which is inserted into a groove within a cap sleeve, a clip body which is located outside of the cap sleeve and extends substantially in parallel to an axial direction, and mainly has a surface substantially orthogonal to a radial direction, and a coupling portion which extends in the radial direction, for coupling the base to the clip body. When the clip is caused to rock by holding the clip body, an angle between the coupling portion and the base becomes larger to deform the clip. Since the coupling portion is not restricted by the cap sleeve, the coupling portion can become deformed greatly. Also, the cap sleeve prevents the coupling portion from rolling.

Abstract: A writing utensil includes an external cylinder, a lead feeding mechanism housed in the external cylinder and propelling a lead forward, and a rear-end knocking member movable in conjunction with the lead feeding mechanism in an axial direction. The rear-end knocking member is integrally formed and includes a cylindrical section, a clip section, and a connecting section. The cylindrical section has a central hole into which the rear end of a lead case of the lead feeding mechanism is inserted and in which the rear of the cylindrical section protrudes from the rear end of the external cylinder. A clip section extends outside and along the external cylinder in an axial direction and a connecting section passing through a stem hole formed in the rear side face of the external cylinder for connecting the cylindrical section and the clip section together.

The double chuck type mechanical pencil comprises a lead tank provided movably in a longitudinal direction within a barrel, a feed chuck connected to the lead tank to feed leads, a chuck ring loosely fitted in the feed chuck, a sleeve provided externally of the feed chuck, a chuck spring provided between the sleeve and the lead tank, an inner tube provided externally of the sleeve and movable integrally with the sleeve, a cushion spring provided between the inner tube and the barrel, a tip chuck provided on the end part of the inner tube, a tip ring provided externally of the tip chuck, and a tip spring provided between the tip chuck and the inner tube.
